Why is it so fast?
i have to go work in the backyard. i'll criticize that when i get back.
1. unless they're building a car meant to hotlap. which is rediculous unless you're building it for pinks...they should know to build a f/i or nitrous engine.
2. of course "wrenches have been turned", how do you think the stock cams got there?
3. so go take a video of it. like i suggested in pm's but you thought i meant take the valve cover off and take a video of it hahahahah.
4. you mean it looks like this?? no exhaust is going to be copper."see picture"
5. sell car now.
6. its called a radiator and ac condensor. i thought you knew about engines and cars....
7. please explain how exactly you retighten plastic push clips????
8. you can put screws in to bolts?!?!? thats awesome!!!!!!!
9. you've gotten nothing but ridicule BECAUSE you won't post pictures and videos. cause you know that if you did everyone would know for sure that you're full of bullshit
10. you will be stopped at 129 if you say its the limiter stopping you. and yes torque will drop off after 120....you're already in 4th gear!!!!
11. dyno sheet to prove it? because there isn't a 2.4L above 180trq without f/i or nitrous..
12. you have EVERYTHING to prove
13. no its not....you bought the wrong car. you thought it was supercharged..this isn't the car you wanted hahahah
14. cause it doesn't have a factory strip. thats put on at the dealer.
15. no, no it won't be more valuable. one, because its not the top model. and two, you keep listing everything thats wrong or has done to it. if you really want this car to be worth something, it needs to have ZERO mods, needs to be bone stock with all orginial parts, and it needs to drive flawlessly with less than 10k miles.
16. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cobalt_ss click link, scroll to "model details", read 4th model-"SSnaturally aspirated". theres your memo. also see chart below.
17. please stay out of those.

Blackgloves, you said it better than I ever could. Thanks for being one of the few to finally understand what I was getting at. Yeah, I guess you could say I screwed up not checking for a supercharger, then again, I was so excited to get one, I just went in and paid cash. The entire deal was done in an hour. 1.Having been taught to stay away from forced induction by those who build race engines for a living. It was the absence of the gauges that got me to question. Here is what I have discovered about the car now that I have had it for a while.
2.This car does have aftermarket cams and gears. I'm unsure of the lift/duration, etc., but removing the valve cover gasket revealed that wrenches have been turned on the bolts. It doesnt take rockets science to see that. 3.Not only that, performance cams can usually be heard as well. Especially when your idling, maybe filling up gas at the Shell station.
The exhaust has been completely modified, but only from the header out. GM confirmed the header is OEM. This is the strange thing. 4.The piping? It's solid copper. Downpipe is also solid copper. From the header to the mufflers. Copper? Thats a new one on me. Don't really know how that would help the cars power. The mufflers? Nearly 2ft long and have the same diameter as the pipe. No brand names on anything to tell me anything.
There was a supercharger. A boost gauge was once screwed in right next to the power steering module. Basically if you look towards the accelerator while driving, there it would be. 5.Its a funny thing when you pull out the factory stereo and see the aftermarket guage buried in a rats nest of wiring. It took two hours to pull all of that wiring out of there. A fire hazard to say the least. Top it off, the stock airbox? the holes don't match up. The reason for this it think is because, its not the one that is supposed to go. I feel as if the first owner of this Cobalt removed all that stuff very quickly, maybe the repo man was coming.
I'm not going to go out on a limb, here. 6.But either there are two radiators in this Cobalt, or there is inter/aftercooler. 7.Not only that, I had to re-tighten everything concerning the facia. It almost fell off the car.
Although I only found one gauge crammed behind the stereo, I feel as if the first owner was running NOS. He bolted the bottle behind the drivers seat right under the rear side window. Couldnt find any hoses, but under the emergency brake is a nicely cut square about 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. 8.with the bolts coming from underneath to put screws down on. Plus the bolt holes remain where the NOS was bolted in. Why would you cut a 1/2 by 1/2 inch square into the plastic if you didnt intend for something like a switch to go there?
9.There is a reason why I don't post videos and pictures. It's because I have gotten nothing but ridcule ever since I joined this site. The scenarios I mentioned were absolutely true. I have no reason to lie to anyone on this site. Some took it as far as to dragging in mommas and insulting them. I will say this. My Cobalt is different then most of the ones I see, which isnt many. There are tons of Cobalts on the road, and for good reason. GM scored with this car, I beleive. I dont know if it was Honda, or GM that came up with VVT, but VVT is awesome. I drove from Houston to Dallas the other day and used just a little over half a tank of gas. 10.The car does 138 miles an hour, "curse the limiter". The torgue does drop off a noticeable amount at 120. 11.This car has a very wide torgue curve. I have decided to be different than everyone else and stay N/A. When this 2.4 has seen its day, I'll have a fresh one to put right in the car, 300 hp no forced induction. No short stroke. It can be done. If then my car doesnt beat everything on the road, who cares. Right now, everywhere I go people hate my car and they are dying to race. And the funny thing is, it's Corvette owners who don't race me, but instead compliment me and have a million questions about the car. Until this website can keep the mass immaturity under control, 12.I've got nothing to prove with pics or vids, or anything. 13.I bought a 2006 Chervrolet Cobalt SS because that is exactly the car I wanted. Not an Audi, not a Neon, I even wanted a 2006. It's the earliest SS's in that particular model that always end up being the most sought after. For example, 83-87 SS Monte Carlo. The 87 considered by most at the time to be the best out of those models, but today its the 84 that is most sought after. On top of that, the "tuxedo" stripe? 14.I got laughed at when I said my car had a factory stripe, until I seen a 70 Chevelle SS that could have been my Cobalt's twin sister. I sent a pic of my Cobalt to the owner of this Chevelle, and he tripped out. Of course his SS is worth 150k though. 15.It's a safe bet mine will be more valueable 30 years from now, than the SS Cobalts being mass produced right now. Plus, seems like every 06 SS with the auto tranny, has ridiculously low miles. My car will be four years old in Jan. and it has less than 40k on it. From now on, if anybody on this site just has negative shittalking or immaturity to display, I wont even respond. 16.Im' not taking the car to a dyno yet, but if this car is only 171 hp? I didnt get that memo. Thanks again, blackgloves for helping me get my point across. 17.From now on, I'll only be posting in the mechanical related forums.

It's just funny cause you can go put these "supercharged" and "turbocharged" emblems from the dealer, on any car. Anyway... Out to mow the lawn before this dude makes me more retarded

I'm still not sure why people care so much? This guy could be the biggest prankster on this site and most of you are beating away on your key boards calling him out over some post?
EXsoccer1921: many people prefer NA set ups over FI set ups? You like many in this thread seem jealous to be so worked up over it. Asking him to post a video etc.. You will never met him, nor will he matter in your life
get over it people
jeeeez!

well, I think listening to people try to ramble their way out of a situation is fun. That's the point of calling someone out imo and why I do it.
1. To keep the FACTS around and get rid of the bull ****.
2. Watch the idiots that make up **** and get caught try to weasel their way out of it. Pretty damn funny if you ask me.

Yea, the gasket turns purple when you have high performance cams as opposed to green when you have medium performance cams. It's a reaction between the blinker fluid and the liquid lobe lubricators.
