Did I mention GM actually manage to change out my motor for me too? Yeah, it's true: I actually have the same engine as the ZR-1

I could have saved all this hassle if i would have seen stats like this before.
Thats fantastic for a Supercharged engine. Since a lot of people on this site dont machine
their engine blocks or cylinder heads, I wonder how much of a HP loss you would have minus the SC? What this tells me is that once you get to 5k rpms, bye bye torgue. Havent put the car on a dyno, but considering all the bullshit today, why not. It's a safe bet my car is in the 230 hp range. One major difference, my car redlines at 7,000. Thank you for your info, I know exactly whats in my car now. He-he. No ******* wonder.
i'll take you up on that bet

so you tell us you know how to build an engine.....but you think his car redlines at 5200rpms just cause thats when his peak hp is?

.....but wait.....didn't you just say your redline was at 5k????? oh...yep, you sure did.....

You wanted to know about your car, and yet here you are, telling everyone with a ******* modem that you have some top secret Chevy that no one, not GM themselves, knows anything about. And even further, you rub more **** in our face that you're "racing" (racing = weaving in and out of lanes of HEAVY ******* TRAFFIC) and beating cars that would actually spank your ass in a REAL race.

And then to make matters worse, you start making idle ******* threats when people call you out for the insulting ******* bullshit that you try to shove down their throats.

I mean...seriously. Quit ******* talking and just move the **** on before everyone here thinks that all Houston people are just as ******* ignorant and deaf.
Honestly man, I tried your approach with my very first post. I described the car and told of what had happened while driving it. The secret supercar ****, was conjured up be everyone else. All I was saying was that the car was a bit more powerful then I was told. Thats all I have been trying to say. I didnt come to boast or be better than anyone else. I did however discover something about GM Performance Division teaming up with certain partners for certain projects on certain cobalts. I posted the info with verifications, and I ******* got censored. I havent threatened anyone will anything other getting beat in a race. Do the research yourself. Go find out for yourself what renowned race engine builder is in bed with GM Performance Division. I'll give you a hint, it starts with an "R". One final thing mexi, Im angry now because some people think its cool to talk about sexaully assaulting a deceased mother, it happened to me. Nice guy left at that moment. I didnt start all this animosity. I was too floored by the 93 responses of personal attacks that I never thought would have happened. Obviously something I said touched a nerve. Im out of apologies for whatever I said that offended people in that first post. Mexi, would you appreciate me trashing your deceased mother on here, in public? I think not. Guarunteed I'm going to defensive now. The line was crossed. You think I dont' know ****, can the childish immaturity and you just might surprised at what I do know. Hence the words now everyone. If you want to have mature discussions about Cobalt, awesome. If you want to dog me out and and do the "I know you are but what am I" ****, expect relentless posting of "go **** yourself." People here toss those momma jokes like its "real talk." Where I'm from, dissing momma' get's you hospitalized." Anyone who reads this and was offended by something in my first cobaltss.net post, I sincerely apologize. I never intended to offend anyone.

c'mon hack, you gotta admit the painted wheels contribute at least 200 of that hp.

You got a limited slip in the GTO? Remove it and downgrade. I wasnt even talking about cid or GTOS for that matter. How muchh of that 400hp would you be wasting without a LSD? You jumped on the conversation and made a statement that didnt have **** to do with what I was saying. Actaully you know what, just chill with that **** for a second, I got something to share.

I once had a 79 Mustang LX, the tiny small one. The body was absolute trash. If you really want a good laugh, this was the car. Busted window, different color body panels. Half a dash, I swear. Rims were metric, so forget ever having new tires. But inside was a sleeper. 302 V8, roller cams, roller rocker arms, roller every thing. Cam has 500 lift. It had such a sick lobe that it always sounded like the car would die. You remember glass packs? I do. They were way too loud. Even at an idle. Starting this car was a chore, so I installed a Supercoil, which helped only slightly. A four barrel holley 650 cfm and edelbrock performance ensured many trips to the gas station, but no big deal cause gas was 89 cents. Dang, 89 cents, gotta let that sink in. Anyways...

Im rolling around my neighborhood, showing off my hooptie with the badass engine. It was the only thing remotely badass about the car, if that. I am in the middle of the street and some of the younger neighborhood kids are on there bikes, trying to get me to do a burnout. I finally say ok and start to burn out. I hear a pop from the rear end and the next thing I know the back of the car is sitting on its gearbox. I got laughed at all day long. Even I thought it was prety funny. The differential had disentegrated into 100 pieces of shrapnel and the axles, rear hubs, brake drums, and wheels shot out from the rear end like rockets, one in some yard, the other in a ditch. The torgue had to got somewhere, it went to the unibody, rip! Not enough to notice till later though. I go to a ford dealership for a new differential. The guy says, "hey man, you want and LSD? I got a 71/2 inch Dana for 230 bucks." Sold. I get this LSD home, put the car up on jackstands, while thanking God I didnt strip the splines on the axles. It takes me two hours to install the diff., add friction modifier, u joints, blah blah. The very second I get on the street, I immediately noticed a complete difference in the car. More stable idle, more pull in the wheels when driving the car without giving it gas. The car car reached 10 mph without even touching the pedals. This is typical of all cars, but not this one. It didnt do that before. I pull onto the street, Im all alone. The light turns green. I punch it to floor. In about the same length of road that exists in a Wal mart parking lot, which is all I have to go by distance wise, that mustang did 90 mph. It never made out of second gear. That differential made that car twice as fast. I took it on 225 in pasadena went for broke. I dont really know just hwo fast I was going, but the needle was facing 6 o clock and just ticking. Faster than a Cobalt for sure. That car would scare the **** out of anybody, especially when you start to feel the whole back end of the car sway because litttle do you know, the unibody is splitting. The final straw for the car was went I was trying to corner really fast one day and I saw the real fender of the car on the passenger side without sticking my head out that window. I spun out and the torgue literally forced the back side of the car to do a 180, which in turn pulled the cab of the car straight into a telephone pole. Unbeleivably, I 'm not hurt at all. I get out of the car, and its torn in two pieces. The car should have had a roll cage, but I was a kid, I didnt know about that ****. I get the car home and get set to pull the engine out and guess what. The heads have massive blow-by. So instead, I give the engine to a non profit that water skis the disabled. It was put in a ski boat and is hauling watersking paraplegics all over lake houston. And they all want to ski behind the fast boat too. Thats why I say, drive without an LSD, it makes more of a difference. The drivetrain is where most HP is lost, thats not news. Losing an LSD costs you way my horses then losing a supercharger. And the loss is much greater to a 4 cylinder than a v8.

No I didnt say that. I didnt say at all that the LSD "gave" you anything. It just delivers more of what you have to the pavement. So quick to try to tear me apart. Even still, no LSD doesnt mean slower car. Just means only one wheel to lay down the power. Im getting one. I think everyone would get one when the funds are available. I wish Cobalts were AWD like Impreza's or Skylines.

14.8s is slow for a stock LSJ. 14.2-14.3s all day long with a good driver. Best time for me was 14.2 @ 100mph...

Actaully I think thats pretty damn good. Whats your hp vs you whp?

Actually I think anything over 10 secs is slow. But the Cobalts not that kinda of car either. 13 secs is modest for a 250hp fwd 4 cylinder. I'd be happy with 13 secs, I'd be relentless to 12 however.

Ok cool perfect. Now here's where theres been a problem. I just looked at your car, its more like mine then most. Im not saying that my car is 230 hp205tq, I dont know. It just feels like it to me. Consider other cars or trucks i had that i knew for a fact were 170 hp like mine is supposed to be. I had a dodge dynastry for about 8 months once. It was 178 hp and with a mitsubishi v6 and holley port fuel injection. It was a granny car. Well the Cobalt with the same hp (supposedly) would ru8n circles around a granasty. Can you understand me, the car is more than GM says it is. Man Im telling if you could drive this car youd agree man. This car has more power than that. Im not saying it has any more power or less than anything else. Its jsut not 171 hp, there's no way. I do know the cams and gears are helping, but. And I'm being honest as **** man. GM is not very forthcoming. In fact, they're acting like the plug is getting pulled on them, which I heard is gonna happend, but damn. Here case in point. Do you have the stage two brakes?

there are no stage2 brakes. the car will feel as if it has more power because it is a lighter car than whatever it was you mentioned. and i really am having a very hard time believing you have cams in your car. go take a video.

I don't buy that there's cams... I think your car has light bolt-ons and your perception of huge power is attributable to it being light.

As for F/I not making the 2.0s fast? I'm pretty sure my car only takes off when the boost needle swings out of vacuum.
