I seem to be haveing a problem trying to get the SS i want .All the dealers are trying to cram SS down my throat but not the one i want with the options.I find it hard to belive that they cant get a 06 from the factroy that i want. ?????? Any ideals

There shouldn't be a problem ordering the SS from the factory. What options do you want exactly?

I am going to go out on a limb and say you are trying to get the G85 package with blue,yellow, or red inserts. You have to get the all ebony interior to get the G85/performence(lsd, recaro) package, no inserts.

That's the only thing I can think, is that they're trying to order an option that isn't available on the car. Not necessarily G85, could be heated seats or something else as well. (All of course assuming it's the SS/SC.)

That was the only confusing thing I had a problem with when ordering one, it was also one of the deciding factors as to why I didn't get one.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to "argue" with the dealer about me wanting an '06 1-SS, with NO options, but having them order the quaife & install it....the standard equipment list is fine for me... LSD is the only option I really want.

get the G85 package its cheaper than haveing them install it. The LSD alone is 1500, install is near $1k

I looked on-line and for a base 1-SS, with no options, the MSRP is $16,900 and the 2-SS is $19,900. So even at a cost of $2,500, the 1-SS would price out around $19,500. The 2-SS with the LSD is ~$21,000

Go to another dealership, just make sure you know everything you want before you walk in there. it shouldnt be a problem if its possible. I went to several dealerships before i decided which one to buy from.
they want specific cars off their lots at times, so really all you can do is not allow yourself to fall into sales traps and make sure you are the one in control of what you want and get.

took the words right out of my mouth. a good dealership will go out of their way to find what you want. DO NOT SETTLE FOR ANYTHING LESS....u will kick yourself in the longrun

They just now told me it would be ~$6,500 to get & install a Quaife AND it would void my warranty "....it's not just changing the differential, there are different gear ratios and blah, blah, blah..and it will void your warranty, blah, blah..."

The dealer is trying to sell you what they have.
I went to a diffrent dealer and ordered mine with no problem.

um....the LSD is only available on the SS/SC.....the 1SS package is the 2.4 SS, the 2SS package is the SS/SC....That could be the reason you can't get the LSD as a option in the 1SS. I would get the SS/SC with the LSD and nothing else and you'll be at about 21500. Thats a pretty good deal....

Looking for the g85 with the colored inserts. And really just wanting black car radio with the speakers. The whole SS SC package.. What i am starting to see is yes they want to lose what they got off the lot or try to pawn something else off on you color wise from joe blows lot.Dont need the ash tray and all that crap.Starting to think you cant get the g85 with the colored inserts.Whats was bad i called chevy and i dont think the dude had a clue as to the g85 with the inserts or anything for that matter

Thats true,
You can't get the G85 with the colored seats. It has to be ebony on ebony.

Like 1/2 the people in this thread said, you CANNOT get the G85 with the colored inserts. My advice to you would be to order it with the Recaros and swap seats with someone who does have colored inserts, lots of people want the Recaros so I'm sure you'll find someone willing to swap with you.
