Will there Ever be a 2.4 GM S/C?

plz keep this post in general

Will GM ever release a S/C for the 2.4 that wont void warranty?

i've really been thinkin about it lately and i'm starting to regret going with the 2.4.... i know that if i decide to put and aftermarket turbo/S/C on it, it'll get a hefty hp/tq gain... but i dont want to void a 7 year warranty in my first year of owning the car. and i know my parents most definatly wont let me **** it up either. so SS/SC is starting to sound real nice especially w/ stage kits. but i dont know if i can convince them to trade in for a SS/SC even if i made the extra payments i still dont think they would i just dont know what to do... any ideas, thoughts, advice or input would be appreciated

I cannot wait for them to come out with this. I like my car a lot and it is quick, but an SS should be fast. If GM does not release the supercharger for the 2.4 by this time next year I will probrably just get rid of mine and go with something with more power. I honestly thought that going with the 2.4 was a good idea because if we could add f/i to this engine it will be badass.

That was one of the reasons that got me to switch, Stage Kits and keeping my warranty.

A supercharged 2.4 wouldn't take long to eat the stock tranny. They should have given us the beefier tranny that the S/C has. Maybe the S/C tranny will bolt up???

Haha a tranny is yet another reason I switched, I would need mine to last longer than 100K miles, if the 2.4 w/ F/I would even last that long. But that was the 5spd. I don't know how strong the auto is on these 2.4s.

I havent been keeping my eye open on anything, but are any kits suppose to come out this summer or next? I would hate to turbo a car in the winter, lol.

The 2.4 VVT is of no relation to the 2.4 Twincam. Completely different engines except for 2.4 litres of displacement.

The 2.4 VVT has an extra 21hp and 8lbs-ft compared to the TC. Not to mention the VVT allows for a flatter torque curve than the TC. And that's impressive because the TC had 155lbs-ft from 2400-4400rpm.

I don't see GM doing one. The 2.4 has too high of a compression ratio to be reliable while pumping 10-15 lbs of boost.

10.4:1 on the 2.4L is somewhat higher compared to the 9.5:1 on the 2.0L.
