i paid 15k for mine with 34k
put over 8 into it already
when i'm done paying it off it'll be 2016 and i'll probly b at 100k, have more money into it... it'll just never be worth selling. i bet if i sold it out my driveway now, (56k) $10-11000 tops.
sooo i think i'm just gonna run her to the ground

at this point you might as well keep the thing and pay it off. its pretty depressing when your trying to make money out of a car that unfortunately doesnt hold much value...again its depressing i know..
i went through the same thing but i chose to just pay it off and keep it. i only owe less than 3k now, its an 2006 lsj has 80k miles but new motor has roughly 45k

you say youre close to 100K but yet your only at 74K you still have 26K till youre there and then another 30K till the numbers you are panicking from. how many miles do you drive to work each day?
Granted i have an LE5 but i have 167K miles without any major issues. i have done wheel bearings adn normal wear and tear stuff, but nothing major. and yes i do race the car.
there was another member with an 05SC that had over 200K and then teh car was vandalized and totaled. if you're worried about longevity, then i would say you should breathe a little easier. if you maintain it well, the car should be good for another 100K.
if youre worried about resale, buy a ZR1 or a ZL1 and wrap it in plastic and wait 30 year. then hope someone thinks its worth more than you paid.

if you're worried about a car declining in value you have 3 choices:
1) don't buy one
2) buy a beater shitbox that's already worthless
3) buy an antique / classic / special interest that will increase in value as you invest in it (but you will still lose, because it will cost you more than its worth)
if you invest in a (fairly) late model car, you can't just look at its declining resale value-- you have to look at cost of operation over time, and try to get as many miles/years out of as little $$ per year as possible. the first five years suck. The second five years are better. they average out.

new cars are a damn wasted of money, besides, the cobalt SS is .. unique, if you look at it as theres 12435346363634 mazda 3's, Civics, corollas blah blah blah on the road... but not a lot of SS cobalts
you own it.. keep it, its a good car I wouldn't sell it.
