Woohoo! I'm a victim.

For the first time in the year i've had with my SS, it's been vandalized. Front windsheild smashed at girlfriends house.

This piece of **** teenager, whom I don't even know cause he's 15 and lives on the other side of town decided to throw a rock at my car today as he walked home from school. I was sleeping at the time. Woke up to go to class and wham, noticed the major fuckup on my windsheild. Called police got a report blah blah blah. I left with my brothers car cause **** driving with a smashed windsheild right in front of the drivers seat. About 10 minutes later my lovely girl calls cause the kid down the street knows who did it. Call police to go back and I go back as well. The kid that knows who did it told the cop and she went to his house.

I left and now await. I hear it's upwards of $500 to replace our windsheild. I'm gonna see if I can get this bitch tinted too .

The rock hit at the VERY edge of the windsheild, right in the middle above the mirror. Another centimeter and it would have hit the roof, probably denting and definately scratching.

The kid is known for being a piece of **** around town. He's caused 5 small woods fires that the Fire Dept. had to come put out.

If his parents don't pay up, i'm getting a hitman that is his age to royally kick his ass.

Eh. It'll finish the look. 5% everywhere, 50% up front. It'll be perfect.

If your thinking ticket heaven, I don't have a front plate, I drive like a ********, and I already have 5% tint. 0 tickets, 1 accident in the 3 years i've been driving.

I really just want it fixed, but i'm not going to let some mom and pop place do it. I'm going to have one of those glass places that come to you fix it. Or the dealer.

Dealer won't do anything to it, they'll call a glass place to do it...Call Safelite Autoglass, I've worked for hem for over 2 years, and there's a reason why we hold all the insurance contracts, and most dealer contracts. Trust me dude, if you want it done right, call Safelite, and yes...we go to wherever you need us to. www.safelite.com, or 1-800-800-ASAP. 24 hour notice is all we need, unless you call early in the morning(right at 8am), ten they may be able to get you the same day.

Tinting the windshield would be great until the first time you drive it at night. You probably wouldn't even be able to see your own headlights.

Exactly my thoughts. And i'm going with GM glass.

I haven't heard from the police about anything yet. I'll be at my girlfriends at 2:00 PM today, exactly where he walks by every day.

I've driven cars with 5% everywhere and 50% up front, not bad at all.

Check your insurance company first. In Florida, windshields have to be replaced by our insurance company at no cost to us. Because you filed a police report, and it was vandalism, they may cover it and go after the ass who did it.

Check your policy to see what's covered.

The kid is a minor which would be very bad if the op is over 18. The OP should just hire the teenage hitman to take care of matters.

I called my insurance and it comes out of my comprehension. **** that.

I am 19 and the kid is 15. Never seen him, never knew he existed before this. Apparently, he hates me cause of my car. Jealousy woes.

Comprehensive, you mean. What is your deductible at for a comprehensive claim.

I agree, the thing is you can get the top tinted. When I was a teen I punched my windshield and to my surprise cracked you. When the place replaced my glass windshield I had an option to get the top like 4-6inches tnted. It looked nice and helped block some of the sun. It would be crazy to tint the entire windshield, and legal problems to.

$2000

Called Safelite, $293 using their glass with new moldings.

GMpartsdirect list the moldings and windsheild at $283.

Obviously, the Safelite is the way to go cause it includes installation.

All depends on how this turns out. If they don't want to pay to get it tinted, I want the factory GM glass. If they agree on tinting, Safelite is perfectly fine.
