Wow... This sucks
I pay $152 a month. I am also 25 own my own home, no tickets, side-curtain airbags, alarm system. So that all factors in
Go to the dealership and get the vin number off of the car you want. No insurance company can give you an accurate quote without it. Take that VIN number and write it down then go to www.progressive.com Get your quote there and see what happens. I can only see 400 a month if you have a ticket. At 17 you are considered to be very high risk for an insurance company. Also having a two door sport car is working to your disadvantage. My fiancee when she was 19 had a tiburon and her insurance was $3600 a year ! $300 a month. Age, driving record, and class of car are what get you.

it is actually a 5 door. 4 regular doors and one suicide door for the one legged evil monkey.
also Hella SS if your insurance company is still penalizing you for a ticket you got 7 years ago I would switch insurance. Your pts are dropped every 3 years.

damn....I'd really like to know about this one legged monkey
There are so many variables that can change what you pay per month... it's almost pointless to compare to what other people are paying unless you list every detail of the policy.
I'm 22 and own a 2.4L SS. I pay $173 per month through Nationwide... but that's for some pretty heavy coverage... and with a 50 mile roundtrip commute to work everyday. No tickets... one accident, not at fault.
You also need to know what kind of coverage your policy has... how much bodily injury coverage, vehicle coverage, property damage, full/limited tort, deductibles.... etc. I have pretty high coverage in most of the above mentioned areas. I also have full tort and very low deductibles. So I've got a lot of coverage.

No accidents / No tickets - my insurance alone - no parents and no co-signers on the car.

Actually with most insurance companys in my area, with me as the only insurer on the car, it's that high, however, with my dad as the main driver, and me as an occasional, it goes down quite a bit, so I think I will end up doing that and it should work out pretty good.
