Which year is the best for each the LSJ and LNF? Soon to be cobalt owner here
U have to decide what ur willing to pay for a car, will tell u to get an lnf but one thing yo remember is the lnd cost more then lsj, u can find lsj aroud 8 to 10k easy from a private seller, the lnfs still going anywhere from 13 to 16k so even tho lnf can make big power for less money they cost more so it equals out. Also consider what kinda power limit ur looking for, i think u said u had no e85 newr u so a bolt on lsj will max out around 260-270ish on pump gas and good tune, the lnf will max around 330ish i think they was a few that got 340 with 93 pump only. Then comes in the factor of do u want 400hp ur looking at having to turbo swap either car for that so its all up to u.
Call them make sure they do, google search told me i had a place like 9 miles from me but when i called they didnt carry it anymore.

Any LNF would be good. the 10's came with RPD standard, which is like an interceptor gauge, and upgraded injector seals if you run E. some of the 09's come with RPD and the 08's did not. Lots of people run E on their cars and have no problems but others it eats the injector seals.
07 and 06 LSJ were pretty similiar. 07's get a different steering wheel and gunmetal rims. 05 LSJ's were the worst of all the years in terms of problems.
pretty much what soccor said is correct, watch for oil leak around the HPFP on the block.

The first half came with polished, second half came with impala gunmetals
Hence my own
Found a cheap 07 on my local Craigslist but the underhood pic is crappy. http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/3448452528.html

Yeah thats a great price as long as nothing is wrong with it but honestly the 07 tend to be on the higher side of the money 10k or more because of the few updates they got over the 05-06, so 6.5 with 77k mile is an insane deal unless its got a blow tranny or some other problem thats not being put up front. Needless to say id check that out in person because if its got no problems other then a dirty engine bay id buy that asap an use the extra money to either tvs or turbo swap it and still be less then 9k into fully modded.
This one about four hours away with about 100k miles which has Megan racing suspension on it. Seems to be in good shape. I called the seller regarding the 07 with 77k miles just waiting on a call back. http://elpaso.en.craigslist.org/ctd/3396841927.html

With the mods you can see you could always get the dealership to drop the price a bit more
The first one is the 06 with 100k miles and I found a 07 in Houston with 70k miles for 11k here it is.

id probably go with the red 07 out of those cause it has the least miles but id try to talk them down to about 8500- 9k
Could also look into the redlines. It's an lsj, just different body. 06 best year for them.
I picked up my 06 redline comp edition for 12.5k with 22k miles from a dealer. That was April of 2012. So theirs plenty of deals out there.

Early 2007 is the best LSJs, they still had G85 as an option, because later 07s didn't have the G85 package as an option anymore. The 07 also has the same steering wheel as the 08+ and the radios are compatible with the later models.
