Electrical: 12 volt power tap and grounding for accessories
I recently wired leds into my footwells.
I tapped into the int light fuse and it is NOT switched.
It stays on when the doors are shut and the int light shuts off
Plus, empty fuse spots don't have an power
I used a regular sized fuse tap, but had to cut it to get it to fit.
Where are the wires that run to the headlights? I want to tap those so they only come on at night and I don't have to turn them on and off every time.
Scratch that, slot 22 is a switched fuse slot

Hey um so i own a 2006 lt cobalt coupe and im trying to hook up a street glow music interface to make my led lights dance to the music and i wanted to wire to the accesory plug, the accesory plug always has constant power to it no matter what, i cut the power wire and hooked the 12 volt wire from the music interface to it and grounded the black wire on the interface to metal, but the music interface isnt working. What did i do wrong? did i ruin the power wire to the accesory plug cutting it it? was i suppose to do something with the ground wire from the accesory plug? Please help. And i used the accesory plug near the e brake on my cobalt wich is in the middle.
Hey Guys,
Just my $.02.
When I installed the gauges in my car I used an 'Add a Circuit' kit. Amazon.com: Littelfuse FHA200BP ATO Add-A-Circuit Kit: Automotive
This kit is similar to using a tap, however, gives you the ability to put a separate fuse on your new accessory line. I also chose to use my sunroof fuse location, however, used a 5A fuse for my gauges.
