Projectors (NGA) HIDS (Vision).. same as you.. bulbs are super close to the shield in the projector.. verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry tight fit with the retaining clip.. had to bend it a bit to get the bulb to go in.. I think the bulbs are to close to the shield..

I will test this tonight by moving the bulb outwards by hand.. and see if it makes any difference.. if it does.. i duno man, cuz that clip is hurtin already.. i was thinking a washer but i dont think that clip can bend anymore haha..

SHIIIIIIIIIIT, I had to use a pair of pliers to pull the clip across, no way we are getting more space in there, unless there is a way to move the projector lens further away.
I won't have time to play with mine tonight, but any update you find would love to hear about. I'm also finding it hard to believe that we are the only ones to experience this between both cobaltss and club5g forums

I would say maybe we installed the bulbs up-side-down, however the projector was notched out, so there was only one possible way for the bulb fit

I had this problem when i first installed my HIDs.
it was caused by the fact that I put the bulbs in without modifying the housing at all.

they do fit without modifying, but its a very very tight fit.
if you make a slot for the return lead to sit in the bulb doesnt have as much pressure on it. and sits better in the housing, and that blindspot will go away.

Ok, so where does the notch have to go? or are we just supposed to widen the original notch, wont that also make the bulb loose and wiggle in the slot?

hope this post helps as much as it did for me

And yes it may wiggle, but that depends on how good you are at making that slot hehe.
take your time and dont make it to big, and the clip will hold the bulb nice and tight.

the smallest one possible while still being able to do the job.
you want the smallest notch you can make but big enough to effect a change.

also, be VERY aware of where your filings are going.
Do NOT allow filings to get inside.
or you will have to plan projector open heart surgery like I do to get some filings out of the housing.

gonna be a fun summer project lol.

Makes sense - so I should put them in a clamp of some sorts, lay upside down with the housing facing the ground and drill upwards? LOL - if this is possible, I will do it!

yeah. i would even think about maybe putting some masking tape on the inside somehow to catch any stray filings somehow....

either way, do whatever you can to keep those filings out.

so your saying, at the end of the notch that is already there, put another notch?? wtf

this is the best I can get mine to work without modifications.. and it pisses me off

i know for a fact it has something to do with the bulb fitment, I think it is because the clamp thinger doesnt keep the bulb straight.. it makes it **** eyed

ok am I the only one that has a different looking projector?????

right now im putting the return lead from the HID where the green circle is.. what your saying is we need to drill a hole where the red circle is and put the return lead there??????

bump

Well I got it a shitload better by drilling the hole.. first time i did it I did it upside down and the frikken return lead was in the beam.. that pissed me off, then i turned it upside down and it worked damn good, they are a hell of a lot better now, but still not quite perfect.. i gave up for the night anyways.. forgot my camera inside so im not takin a pic haha

later

does anyone have any advice for me aiming my projectors? should i be able to see the cutoff line on the road? and what about aiming my high beams? i just want to know how high i should aim them and i know that the projectors need to be aimed lower then the regular halogen.. could someone measure the cutoff line of your adjusted low/high beams reflected on a wall/ garage and let me know how far away your car was from the wall? thanks.

At first I drilled out where the red circle was, and the HID fit mint, like the little nipples fit right in those holes.. but the problem was the return lead was in the way of the beam for some reason.. so I tried drilling the opposite side, it doesnt fit as good, but the beam is alot better.... ill have to snap some pics when i get a chance..

ill be able to take pics tomorrow night, if you can wait that long.. theres been so many questions about this, now im confused.. its whatever way the return lead isnt in the beam.. so the return lead has to be behind the cutoff plate i believe

dont quote me on that, let me verify tomorrow night...

remember i drilled both sides, so ive basically confused myself.. lol.. ill get it right tho. Ill take a pic of the projector for you guys.

That cool, I have another fricken job tonight so once again I won't get to work on it. If you can have pics posted by Wed night that would be awsome. also would love to see the corrected beam pattern

sorry i was at work and unable to answer Q's...

Yes youve got it right.
the green circle is not where the lead goes, and is one reason your beam pattern was messy.

Dont be too hard on yourself, I made slots on top and bottom of my projectors too lol.

just remember. dont get any filings in your housing!

I am guessing the return lead would go on the top - Maybe An0malous can confirm this? Hey Steve - you figure things out yet? Trial and error I suppose. But good for us who have yet to put the HID's in. I put my projectors in today and the damn things fogged up after going to the car wash. I siliconed the hell outta them too! I think when I take them out to modify for the HID's I am going to use auto goop the black stuff so it doesn't peel on the trim area that was already attached to the projectors. Anyone else have fogging issues at first? Also, those damn LED's are tedious if they get knocked the wrong way. Aiming them is going to be fun .... not.

Here are mine installed:

I think we need to post this on both forums in BIG letters RETURN LEAD NEEDS TO BE DRILLED OUT AND FACES DOWN. Although we would all be better off if our vendors would supply this information
