for that price go to walmart and get a plug in impact wrench. makes everything on the car simple, and it will take those top strut mount nuts off no problem. plus you can use it on all the other bolts. makes a world of difference, especially on all those long ass bolts that have to come out.

Sportlines drop the car about 2.5 inches. That by itself is okay. With the body kit, the front facia will ground out when you go over just about anything that isn't flat. I have the RK Sport kit with Pro-kit springs (which only drop 1.5 inches) and had to remove the front lip.

And I hate to be a pain in the ass, but having multiple accounts is actually not allowed.

To change user names you will have to email the site admin. Only he can do that.

Yes, I would not do the body kit with lowerering springs. You can change the front facia to the Sport one if you want, which is what I did. But the Drifter is too low.

What trick in the rear are you talking about?

no need to lower the axle, that's for the REAR. and in the rear you're lowering the torsion beam.

once everything is unbolted the front comes off in one piece.

I think he's talking about getting the springs off the back.

Jack the rear of the car up, put jack stands on the body on both sides, put your jack under the torsion beam snuggly. Unbolt the shocks and let it drop SLOWLY. Then they just pop right out. If only the fronts were as easy.

im bringing it back! lol

this is a pretty dumb question but what size allen key is that because i have an old set and none of them seem to fit right. im going to go buy another set tomorrow but i want to make sure i get the right size this time. im also running out of ideas with this. hopefully i'll find a place that will take the struts off for me if this fails.

Its not an allen key, it's a Torx bit. But I don't know what size either. I was able to use a metric allen key.

So bleed them. And there is actually a brake hose and anti-lock harness mount on the strut, but they wouldn't cause that problem.

I THINK its been said...

but honestly forget the torx. Just break loose the nut for the strut before hand while its still bolted in the car.(just break it loose you REALLY dont want to completely remove it while the spring is under load), take out the strut, compress the spring and it comes out quite easy. thanks half cent for the post you saved me like $160!!!
