General Suspension: Front strut and spring R&R
I have to take it in... **** me for not having the proper tools... ohh well
Turns out both that bolt was stuck and I ran into the issue with the spinning bolt on the swaybar link
needs to be done though

Dont use spring compressors!!!!!! With the car supported by jackstands, put a large floor jack under the knuckle and unbolt only the large nut with air tools and lower strut, uncompressing the spring, swap in your new spring, jack strut up, and align in the tower, replace large center bolt and your done. Did both struts in 20 minutes.
Keywords, replace springs install lowering springs, without compressors or clamps

Disagree, if you have a 6 ton floor jack, jackstands, and know how. I think its very safe. The coil can not spring off since the lower bolts remain in place until the pressure is lowered off the car. There is absolutely no way for it to come off the strut until its uncompressed. Very safe actually. LOL dont make me make a tutorial.
I struggled like hell fitting a control arm back in last night. I jacked up the knuckle but since the strut was on it was a little nerve wracking. Plus I had a scare when the axle seemed to be stuck in the outmost position despite raising it just enough to get the control arm in.
I have to do it again and will definitely be removing the damn struts. I had no idea it was this easy, so thanks a lot for this how-to.
