Simple math equation:

I'll put my numbers in. Take into consideration that I was one of the pioneers, and my prices are a bit high.

1500 + 1000 + 250 = $2750
I'm guessing you didn't.

Ok... this sounds and looks really difficult and confusing. i like this becuase i just by the parts one at a time and dont have to save moneyup for it, becuase i am really bad at that haha. but is it easier than it looks? i intend to do it by myself and a buddy who is a mechanic but we dont have a lot of power tools to work with. oh yea, is a used supercharger to buy or should i just got with a brand new one? i dotn know how they hold up over time and whatnot, thanks guys!

oh yea, this might sound silly but what is LSJ? is it some cars initials i dont recognize or is it a brand?

So this set-up works with the stock engine, or did you guy do some internals first?

stock internals. I bought my s/c used, and it's holding up great. Run the stock pulley first, get used to the power and the tune...then work from there. I don't think I used any power tools other than a drill to tap the HE. It's a relatively easy install. THe more prep work you do the less time it will take you to do a full install.

Hey! i have had the fortunate luck of owning a chevy cobalt SS 2.4L while my dad owns a Saturn Ion Redline, 2.0 ecotec engine, supercharged of course. The fortunate part is, he does not like all that kind of thing, such as the supercharger, now seeing as how it is the LSJ engine in it could i just transfer parts back and forth? i would need to tune both cars afterward of course, but can i take his supercharger and put it on mine?

oh yea, he dont wanna just trade cars, i have tried that lol he like the ions body better

just swap the entire motor tranny and computers, that would be the easiest route.

and is there a canned tune for a 2.0L that has been unsupercharged, clear image automotive doesnt tune them, and i dont know who would really, it is a weird thing to do lol.

so you can swap the computers? i kinda wanted to keep the 2.4L becuase i would imagine i could get more horsepower out of it, or is that false thinking?

well you probably could but you'd be saving yourself a huge hassle. unless you've researched enough into tuning the 2.4 for forced induction or you know someone personally that knows how to tune the 2.4 for forced induction, i wouldnt **** with it.

you would have to pull the s/c off the ion, but then the ion would need a new intake manifold, and a new tune from the ground up.

buy your own parts. otherwise, it could be possible that you will have two cars that are undrivable for a week or longer.

Just like on the street haha
Too bad you never got it in, I was really curious to see what you could do. You'd probably beat me w/ it. Whoever winds up getting this is getting a hell of a deal and is gonna have a pretty sweet car.
