Is it a good idea to actually buy the LSJ motor it's self, or just piece everything together? It seems like the price is somewhat similar..

Is this something that could basically be done with basic tools, a few helping hands, and a free weekend? Well.. A case or two of beer too.. lol.

Do you have to actually relocate anything, or does everything kinda fit correctly? Meaning, when you mount the intercooler, new intake, etc. There's a box on the lower right-hand side of the engine-bay. It has alot of black metal lines coming into it. Does this get in the way?

If you get EVERYTHING on that list given, that will 100% get you the install, correct?

Is a full dyno tune necessary, or will a normal tune by ok?

What are good gauges to have with this? I already have a narrowband AF Ratio, but i know that won't help anything.. I'm assuming boost, wideband AFR, and a tranny temp (I'm auto)..?

How much worse is your gas mileage? I'm sure it REALLY goes down when you're on the throttle all the time.. I get 25 city and 35 highway currently..

More questions to come.. Sorry but I like to cover all my bases.. I kinda dismissed the s/c idea until I actually READ this post today.. lol.

1. LSJ motor wont put down as much horsepower, plus you'll need the tranny clutch flywheel to go with the LSJ.

2. I did the entire install with a 86 piece tool kit, a jack, jackstands, and a grinder.

3. only thing that needs to be relocated or removed is the windshield wiper fluid.

4. Everything listed is all you'll need for the install.

5. Normal street tune is fine

6. Wideband, interceptor (to monitor intake air temps and other areas), boost gauge is optional, but always nice to see what you're boosting.

7. Freeway gas mileage is probably around 30, city probably around 17-20

Relocate the MAF to the other side of the car. The metal lines you are referring to are the brake lines I think. They are not affected by the blower or intake. The 3" RD Fabs intake for the LSJ rubs a bit, but not enough to make damage. I've had it like that for over 25k miles. No problems.

So the only thing you have to actually relocate is the MAF? Dub question.. But what's the MAF? lol. Would you just basically buy a CAI like if you had a s/c to begin with then so it's on the other side?

MAF = mass air flow sensor. its the one that plugs into your intake. you just need to open up the wiring harness and pull it out of the main harness. its long enough to reach back over to the other side. you'll also need to relocate or remove the windshield washer fluid.

the hose from the radiator to the block is longer on the LSJ than it is on the L61/LE5, because on the LSJ the hose bends over the supercharger snout. Just buy the part from GM...probably the easiest way to go about it

I will certainly look into doing this after I'm done with the rest of the car.. But this'll be last.. Not necessary, and the most expensive.. lol.

alright cool. how do you like your setup? im torn between running a stock pully and injectors or running the stage 2 stuff. thinking maybe ill start with the stockers til i actually need more power then ill upgrade.

^^ i have a feeling those are just the gauges, and not the senders.
you would need a wideband, a boost gauge, and the 3rd is up to you

air fuel ratio gauge... you sound like you need to do some research before you start buying parts

thats a narrowband, only capable of reading ratios close to 14.7. You want a wideband, which usually read ratios anywhere from 10:1 through 20:1

Oh ok. So you think the regular gauges from that site will be good then just get a wideband for the air/fuel?
