How To: 'Correctly' tap fusebox

Now I know alot of people just use a fuse tap, but for me , i wanted my lights, my interceptor and my amp remote all on their own fuse. So i went out and bought one of these...

They are easy to order off the net, but i found mine at an Advanced Autoparts.
For my Interceptor, Neons, Amp Remote....i use a 15A or a 10A fuse. Here it is with a 10A fuse.

the great thing about this, is i keep my sunroof on its own 15A fuse, and my other stuff on its own fuse. This i feel is alot better than tapping off the sunroof fuse itself in case you were to pull too much current or what have you.

Here it is installed...

Buy:
ATC Add- A - Line - BUSHHA
Bussmann BP/HHA ATC Add-On Circuit : Amazon.com : Automotive
http://www.partsamerica.com/productd...PartNumber=HHA (not 100%, but looks like what i have)

Notes:
- The fuses do not sit all the way down but they fit real snug, this is not an issue, but if it bothers you, you can cut the fuse legs down but honestly its not an issue.

well the one i picked up is a 10A max, but i run a 15 for the sunroof no issues, the thing with fuses is you can never run too low, but if u run too high you can have issues, i dont forsea any issues with a 10A or a 15A fuse. I run my interceptor off it, blue neons, and the signal for my amp. sine its constant power for the interceptor and the neons, there shouldnt be any issues and the remote wire for the amp is just a signal there wont be any need for a spike. Try a 5A or a 10A and if it blows go with a 15A.

if you need MORE power, just run a hot line off of the battery and use this thing to switch a relay. behind the radio there are a few screws that you can tap as a nicce neat ground.

yea, if you need to run more than what i listed above, id suggest going for a 12v tap off the battery and fusing it off. what were you thinking of running?

Great mod. Perfect for what a lot of people like to add to their cars.

I'll keep my eyes out for one of those and probably pick one up just to have it ready.

i dont have any pics yet, but i can do so. what i did was i zip tied them under the dash and cut off the ligher connector, wired the two posatives together and the two grounds and made ran the 12v to a switch and from the switch to the buss fuse tap. i connected the ground to well... a ground i hid the switch in the little pull out tray where your trunk release is. popped it out and drilled a hole with my knife nice and clean and placed a nice switch in there

I already did that a long time ago, got my LEDS running off that. I tapped into that, threw in a switch and ran a line to my interceptor and the switch doesnt seem to effect it at all.. any suggestions. Or ill just say F it and run a line to the fuse box... w/e..

me? nothing, i've only got my XM radio running off of it, i just did a relay so that if i ever wanted to add like a wideband, or gauge pack or something (these items can draw more juice than you'd think) i have the power to do so.

Yes, but i have since used this for just my amp signal. I now use a direct 12v thats only hot when the accessories are on. Turn car off, still on, open door...turns off I can take pics of where i mounted i supposed. when its not cold, might be nice tomorrow.

What are you using for the switched 12v source you mentioned??? I need to wire my A/F gage and o2 sensor again...
