How to install Injen Hydroshield
After nearly hydro-locking my car and being stuck on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck for more than an hour, I decided to finally get a hydro-shield for my intake.
Every time it would rain the car would run like bunghole, can't go WOT.. ETC #LSJPROBLEMS
I picked up my hydro-shield from turbo tech racing
Injen Hydro-Shield Chevrolet Cobalt 2.0/2.2/2.4 for Injen Intake Systems - Air Management - Turbo Tech Racing, LLC
Anyways, on to the instructions.
Approximate time: 25 minutes (may be faster with a better jack)
First of all you're going to need some basic hand tools.
A 7mm ratchet
Flat head screw driver
Hands
Jack, Jackstands

Begin by loosening the lug nuts on the front driver side wheel

Next you will need to jack the front driver side up
(this is where you will want to strategically place the jack-stands underneath the car to ensure YOUR safety. )
Remove the wheel

In the wheel well, you will need to remove a select number of screws

I hate the plastic push ins so i just left mine there.

Now you can bend out the plastic and access your intake

Look at how wet and nasty it is right under the filter.. FML

Use your flat head screw driver to loosen the metal clamp so you can remove the pod filter

When the filter is removed you can now wrap your hydro-shield over it

Once wrapped, you can now re-install the pod filter onto the intake

Replace the screws in the wheel well and underneath the front drive side lip
Replace the wheel and re tighten the lug nuts
Lower the car back down and secure the lug nuts
Now ride, in confidence knowing that a little bit of rain won't slow you down

And if it is easier to remove the bracket and head lamp, i didn't think of it. LOL just seemed to make more sense to go through the wheel well because it gives you direct access to the clamp that holds the pod filter on.

I'm not sure about other filters. You may be able to google search hydroshields and find ones that are bigger or smaller..
The fitment on the Pod filter that came with the Injen intake is SPOT ON

On the Cobalt LSJ's there is no way an arm is going to fit all the way down the hole to get to the pod filter on the intake.

jus a heads up.. bought mine off of amazon for EXTRA cheap, and just to let you know.. YES IT WORKS WONDERS.. but you gotta have that inner tire guard, i didn have one and my engine locked up from a friggin puddle of water... and constant water from a wet road without the inner tire well makes for hydroshield no work... but now i have the inner tire well and **** works like a champ... not a single water problem..
