Thanks for the pointers.

My dad and I just finished up installed my old MTX Thunder6000 10" Sub in my car, and it sounds great!

We attached the Line-Out converter to the top of the trunk area, right behind the speakers, and everything is very neat and what not.

Not to be rude but very neat in custom car world mean almost invisible! having the amp in the center of the trunk is kinda LAME! move it to the rear seat or build a custom mount to the sides of the trunk.

I meant neat as in how the wires are routed.

Since you seem to think it could be better, then I can see you'd like to come over and spend a lot of YOUR money to make everything up to YOUR satisfaction - go RIGHT ahead.

I like to be able to see all my connections, adjust everything and what not, and not have holes everywhere.

Oh, and this isn't a "custom car" this is my daily driver, it's a Cobalt for christ's sake, when I think of "custom" I think of something I'd see at Auto Rama - a one off, not something I see every day in multiples of 30.

And not to mention: I have to remove all this every 3 months, so having it in the corner (where the amp won't fit) would suck, and having it on the rear seat would make the wiring not so neat.

Kthxbye.

Half Ass?

You do 30 YEARS of car stereo work and then tell me what's half ass and what not.

Oh, and there's a thing called the "Caps Lock" Button...

Do yourself a favor and turn it off.

I just tried doing this and I blew my amp. I hooked my LOC into the wires going to the stock sub, I think the LOC was sending the full power to line in on the amp, cause the amp still turns on but no sound comes out.

heres my equipment-
10" FI Audio ssd
a8000t audiobahn

not too bad on the write up... i used it too a T along with another one out there. I cant find it now. dang it..

One issue i have noticed is the bass does not hit all the time. Its intermittent, also depends on the station. I mostly listen to the XM radio so i bounce a lot between stations. (my wife asked if i was going ganster...ummm no)

I did notice that the bass control in the deck does work.

My questions if you dont mind:

1. Is there anything i can do to have the bass consistent? (hits when its supposed too)
2. Also Will this work with adding another amp? (i have 3, 1000 watt for sub/ 450 for doors and 250 for tweets that i would like to use)
3. Do the caps really make a difference? (also have 3)

Sorry for the easy questions its been about 10 yrs or so since i last had a system. All i remember was the big price tag of 5k and one kick butt system all custom...

ok got my questions answered... would help if the car was on. lol

about my ride so you know. 2008 BONE STOCK 4 door LT.

Thank you,
Don

I just had hooked up both ways rear deck and off the sub and off the sub is way better so if you have the pioneer system go off the red and black that go to the sub
