How-To: Installing HIDs W/ Relay Harness

How-To: Install HID Bi-Xenons Into Stock Headlights W/ Relay Harness

9007 10,000k Bi-Xenon kit Bought From www.BuyHIDs.com - #1 Plug-N-Play Xenon HID Kits

Tools Required:
-------------------

10mm Socket
Socket Wrench
3/4 Extension

Step 1: Remove the 4 top bolts that hold the headlights and bracket in place & the 3 Push clips on the grill.

Step 2: Pull headlight out from the outside as shown. Takes some wiggling but it will come out

Step 3: Remove the 2 lower bolts that hold the bracket in place.

Step 4: Remove the headlight bracket by wiggling it out.

Step 5: Mount your ballast under the headlight bracket as shown. Double sided tape works best. If your in the colder states heat the area up with a hair dryer before hand to help it stick. Mines been there for 1+ years without issue.

Step 6: Here is a diagram of the Relay harness. It looks complex but its very simple.

Step 7: Now take your relay Harness and wire the (+) Wire to the (+) post in the fuse box. The post just twist off. Install wire and tighten post back down.

Step 8: Take the (-) wire and connect to to the bolt on the fendor. 10mm socket works.

Step 9: Now run the wire for the passanger side (longest wire from relay harness) with the wires that run across the front beam of the car. Below is a picture and the red line is the "wire".

Step 10: Now Take your Blue connector harness. Blue connector plugs into stock harness. The Male plug is not used on the passanger side, while the driver side it connects to the female connector on the relay harness. Refer to the relay harness diagram above to see what the connector looks like. The smallest wires connect together and the 2 plugs also connect together as shown below.

Now put everything back together, bolt it down and you now have Bi-Xenon HID kit installed into your ride.

*Thanks Dman090 for letting me use your pic without asking

I installed this same setup for a friend of mine today, however, when you turn the brights on, the lights go off. Can you help me with this?

Some relays, you need to flip the resister thing around and remove the jumper cable. I know my Harness's you need to but the changes are done before there shipped. Every car is different. Like my sunfire you reverse the resister but you leave the jumper cable.

used this how-to. everything ended up working and turning on but the brightness of the 8k's I got was awful, like it was lower than a ceiling fan halogen bulb. very confusing

They are not designed for HIDs but yes they are bright.

I honestly dont think mine will work with projectors. Either that or my bulbs are dim as hell. My 8ks aren't getting enough power or they shitty bulbs.

DDM tuning is the way to go. except I dont know if theirs are bi-xenon or not. I dont think bi-xenon is all that important anyways.

when you got the xenon bulbs, they were only a single type. I did this by accident before too, they are intended to be only low-beam, not both hi and low. So in order to get high and low beam you need to buy Bi-Xenon or Hi-Halogen/Low-Xenon bulbs. Check them out on Ebay. I recommend the Bi-Xenon, that way you will have HID for hi and low beam.

For the gen 1 projectors, you have to drill on the top of the socket for the lead to fit. The lead is not supossed to go sideways.
