How To: Interior Lights

Tools-
~L.E.D.'s of your choice... i got 2 9in. and 2 3in. OPTX strips from Advance Auto Parts
~extra wire
~heatshrink
~wire strippers/cutters
~switch
~drill

Step1- Mount your lights were u want them.

I mounted both 9 inchers in my footwells and the 3 inchers under the HVAC and on the steering column

Step2- get all the positives and all the negatives and twist them together. add enough wire to go to the switch and the ground. heatshrink them together after you twist them all. you should have 2 in the end (+ and ground)

Step3- run a positive and a negative like this. (you will need to splice) (if u want you can ground the negative to a diffrent ground you can, i ran mine to the E-brake)

Step4- Drill hole for the switch and mount the switch

Step5- flip switch and enjoy!

A good place to get lights for not very expensive is Oznium.com
They have Cold cathodes there that are amazingly bright, and very cheap.

yes as long as you dont cut the power to the lighter then yes you can use it. you just splice you dont cut off. look at the wiring diagram. and the one going to the ground on the lighter is just for the LED in the switch. if its not a LED swith you will only have 2 prongs not 3

I like this mod but i would only want the l.e.d.s to come on when i opened my door. Then go off when i started my car. Like a dome light you no. Do you no what wire i would wire them to, to achieve this goal?

you can cut off the cigarette lighter if you want... then just run the power from the lights to the accesory on the switch...

so its 12v to switch, light to accesory on the switch. switch to gnd (for led) and then light to gnd.

you wired it really weird IMO.. the way you wired it u need the cigarette plugged in to get power... otherwise it wont work

you can just run a self tapping screw thru the body for ground also.

as far as having them only come on when you open the door, u'd have to figure out what fuse goes to your dome light and use tap a fuse to that. least thats a quick way to do it.
