It'd be pretty tricky, since you'd have to perfectly mask off the clear parts of the plastic that allow the light through, which would be impossible. What I did was buy a black headunit and heater unit, swapped the heater unit out and replaced the faceplate on the stereo with the black one (so I didn't have to get it reprogrammed).

The stereo could conceivably be painted over, but the heater unit would be impossible.

radio is cake to paint guys, 4 bolts and 4 clips hold the faceplate on, remove it. tape off the clear part for the display, if you want to tape off the vol sticker on the bottom corners. paint it, put it back! and for the STUPID!!!! silver hvac controls, holla at a local junkyard, place here in waterford mi had something like 108 cobalt hvac controls with ac and i got to pick my black color when i got the part

I took apart my **** and I painted my radio and HVAC controls so I didn't have a big black square around my red. Thoughts?

Im in the process of doing this now and wondered if anyone know of an delete for the air bag on/off where i can make it a holder for something like the size of a phone. If not ill make my own out of thin sheets of wood from the hobby lobby or something and spray it down with a material my dad has to make it heat resistant so it won't warp or be a fire hazard (not my final decision on material).
I'll definitely post pictures of it when I'm done and possible post a how to about the delete. Should be done in about 3days.

Around the HAVC controls the square of black should be changed into a more rounded shape to flow with the rest.
(Sorry for the double post)

nope but i would look into something like fiberglass so its thinner and lighter. also going to want to find a way to support it in the back somehow
