Where can I get the replacement LEds for the Gen 1 lights? If I am going to crack open the lights, I might as well replace them all with a colored light or a brighter white on.

X2 ^^^ I bought new headlights (because those headlights in the previous pictures were on my old 06' 2.4L Balt') I bought 1st Gens. with CCFL Halos in them (from the factory/ebay).

And they look sooo much nicer, and look soo much more badass. Look at my avatar.

I will be doing this soon. I'm debating between yellow to match the parking lights or just brighter white... Any opinions?

My first time it probably took me 1 hour.... At the max. Now, I could probably do it in 15 minutes....

I think MKulrey13 sells the LED's, so you could buy them from him.

Yea... You do have to have a soldering gun. I was soldering the 2 leads (wires) from the LED to the the other one, ontop of that assembly.

I don't really know any other way to do this without soldering.

Just did it today, was pretty easy! Only thing that gave me difficulty was taking off the rubber grommet haha.

Damn dude! They do look really good!! The thing that got me the most was aligning, & soldering the LED's on there.

A couple of things, I found this item available here . However they seem ridiculously expensive. We are talking about $2 of radioshack parts.

I've recently burned out another halo and am thinking about replacing them all with red. I broke the legs off one of these boards before (I think the burned out one now) and had to solder the wires directly on. Im just wondering if I remove the board completely, do I need the diode? I dont fully understand what the diode does (Theres a LED, connected to a resistor and a diode). I have wired up LED's for lots of different projects, and have only ever had to use resistors.

im thinking the diode is to prevent you from hooking it up backwards

Good to know, thanks for the heads up. When I get around to this project I'll be ditching the diode...

I just got out my led and thought I was doing okay...until I notice that my led is slighty different from the one on the images uploaded at the beginning. I'll upload a picture showing that Im missing something...not sure what it is thou.

Also the 3 leds line is not working... I check if its not burn but its hard to tell. Im uploading a pic of that also...

....Im guessing its the wire connection because it mess... Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

I've uploaded them on my dropbox.... In my computer it shows the pics on the forum. Anyways, I'm missing the red piece that says "148". What is that?
And also from the three led upperline I'm missing the black and white cables... Dont know where to get them nor to install it...
