It is actually better for it, than all the wheel hop, which will break the transmission case. The Turbo Tech Racing Solid mount is on 100's of cars and never one issue Nothing to be careful about... It is much better than stock, same think a torque dampener does ONLY the TTR mount better... (Anyone who has both the ingalls and went to the TTR mount will tell you eveytime the TTR mount is 10X better)

yea im having that problem with my stock intake. but my injen is on the way and im going to do this cheap mod were u get some rubber and line it around the hole O that the intake slides thru the fender. it should keep it from slicing. adn the bolt that everyone is talking about i might just put some rubber over it or some type of foam.. u know???? hope i could help u bro.

I think I may have mentioned using a piece of rubber between the body of the car and the metal intake. If you don't use it there will be A LOT of scuffing and it will look awful.

Wow...I wrote this thing like 3 years ago. Glad to see people are still reading it!

well i finally installed my injen CAI and so far so good. The only thing is i had a little smoke from the exhaust when i first put it on im assuming thats from the oil thats in the filter? But i was woundering cause i didnt see it in the how too what you guys did with the clamp that held a wire ( I beleive it was for the fog light) to the stock airbox. I just let it hang there. Also people are talking about the piping scraping on the hole that goes from the engine compartment to the wheel well, i didn have a problem my intake came with a peice of rubber to put there. Also if anyone else reads this to put there intake on i didnt have to take the whole splash guard out, i just unscrewed the 3 or for screws that were under the front lip and then the 3 or 4 that were in the front of the wheel well and was able to pull the splash guard back and letting it sit on the brake rotar. And before someone starts flaming i dont know alot about cars just basics but i noticed that now with the CAI at idle im in vacume at about 18 PSI ( the line just before 20 PSI) but before the CAI i was ideling at about 20 PSI.... that normal?

I just bought an Injen & hope everything goes okay with the install in a week or 2. I'll have a friend help, as I'm not very mechanically inclined. But if need rubber guys, what do you guys suggest? A boot of material of some sort or what?

When you start to install it you will see where the metal rubs on the intake and can wear a hole in it. Its where you have to feed the intake down into the hole. I just ziptied it so it won't rub against there..ghettooo! but works.

I would certainly say the whine depends upon pulley size. It probably wouldn't be that loud on a stock setup with the stock pulley.

I see you guys say it comes with the rubber for the area where it goes through the hole in the body? I didn't say any rubber piece that they send in any of the photos?

I bought my injen way before the rubber piece was sent (if that is true). You would put that piece around the hole in the frame/body. The intake tube loves to rub against it and can wear a hole through the intake tube. If they don't send a piece, take some fuel line and slice down the side of it so you can trim the hole with rubber tubing. That's what I did. I got my injen right after my stage 2. I totally heard a difference at the time.
