2.2 L61 Engine: Intake Mod for 2.2L Cobalts with pictures!!
Hey guys.....dont lean over the car and let a belt loop on your pants get wrapped around that sharp corner of the fender where the headlight lens fits in, cause when you stab your finger with a screwdriver accidentally, and jump back cause it hurts like a mother, you bend back the corner of the fender and make your new car look like a POS....haha oops. Wheres that insurance number???
what a freak accident that was....damn.

Just finished with this about 5 minutes ago.
I just removed the whole front bumper all together because I couldn't get to the damn thing.
I honestly can't tell the noise difference just sitting in my garage and revving it.
I'll post tomorrow after I drive to and from school though.

I'm pretty sure you're referring to that little point of metal that sticks out over the headlights. The answer for this is to get a rawhide or rubber mallet, and some sort of cushion to put behind it. I used a folded pair of welding gloves.
Press against the inside with your cushion of choice. VERY GENTLY tap it back into place from the outside with the hammer while shaping it around your mushy anvil. Don't beat on it like it stole your lunch money or you will screw it up. Don't try to do it without that cushion to shape it, or you will make it even worse.
It's not a hard fix, but to get it right and make it look good will take a while. When I bent mine outward like you did, it took a good two hours of work before I was satisfied with the result. If it's really bad (metal is warped/twisted or folded very sharply) better to take it to a body shop.

I just did this. Doesnt feel or sound any different to me. Good thing I did it though, I found a whole can of corn in my airbox. There was pine needles and pieces of corn everywhere...

Anyways, was very simple. Didnt know the lower attachment on the silencer was one of those pushout pin things, so I ended up ripping it off with pliers. Also used a hose clamp and clamped a piece of metal screen over the intake on the airbox to avoid sucking up large pieces of debris. Just waiting on my B&M Shiftplus now
