Have you attempted the instructions on how to do so in the manual? Those worked for me.

**possible argument starter!** During one of my classes througout my diesel mechanic apprenticeship, we were shown a video on how K&N air filters cut your engine life in half. Due to the 'high flow' capabilities, K&N filters allow alot of smaller particles into your engine that other brand filters do not. Eventually all the small particles allowed in by your K&N air filter, build up in your cylinders and drastically decrease engine life. Sounds pretty logical to me, and has kept me away from them.

Lemme know what you guys think on it.

i think you'll be ok if you change your oil regularly, do spark plugs, just maintain your car in general

Try harder. =P

They shouldn't be hard to access.

The one under the headlight is a 10mm bolt, while the one right under the airbox is not a bolt, but rather a pin.

Personally, I would recommend unbolting the wheel housing around the silencer (there's some bolts underneath the car, in that area, plus a few in the wheel-well area, you don't need to unbolt every single bolt, but about to the top of the wheel should be good). You'll have easier access that way.

Use pliers or a door-panel puller (fork-looking-tool) to remove the pin.

Yeah, it makes it much easier. You don't need to take the wheel/tire off, though. You can if you want.

PROBLEM!

So I cant even get my headlight out to start this process. I dont have a jack or a ramp so, removing this thing through the headlight hole is preferred. What are some helpful tips..... Cause I want this thing gone, but am having a bit of a problem

why cant you get your head light out??
it takes like a 10 or 12mm so you un bolt and pull the light hosing out and then you unbolt the housing craddle (the same way) and then youre in good shape.

I know that, I just dont trust it enough to get under the car when it is in use. I was saying I dont have a REAL jack.

It's fine to hold it. I've used it a bunch of times. It's just a pain compared to a hydraulic.

Infact now I have to use it to get the good jack under my car lol

If it was a shitty jack, do you think they would include it? Talk about a lawsuit waiting to happen...

Regardless of whther the jack is shitty or a CNC racing jack jack you shouldnt be under the car without it supported properly with blocks/jackstands, etc.

You shouldn't need a jack at all, though...

I went through the headlight hole, how cant you get yours out? there is two bolts and the light is out, two more and the black bracket is out, then start pulling, you will need to flex your bumper for it to fit though.

That works, or unbolting the wheelhousing a little, and you can get much easier access to the bolt and pin, and pull it out through the bottom. Either way, it's nothing hard.

I did it before the write up and I did it through the headlight hole, I wasnt aware it was a pin until I broke it.
