paint brake calipers (56k maybe?!?!)
I used the duplicolor brake caliper paint kit that can be found at any autozone for about $20. I would highly recommend buying a couple sheets of sandpaper in 200 grit and 400 grit (people with rear drums need more sandpaper). Also the brush they give you is GARBAGE so stop by any arts and crafts and get a random same size brush!
*this paint is oil based so wear clothes you dont mind ruining*
*this is on my younger brother's mazdaspeed protege', i painted mine on monday and took a bunch of pics but cant find my camera anywhere*
1.Jack car up and take all four wheels off
2. Hose caliper down with caliper cleaner (you can go pretty generous on this they give you a ton!)
3. Wipe off caliper with rag (if its still wet from the cleaner it will waste your sandpaper)
4. Start Sanding (amount of sanding needed is up to user and style, but the more sanding the better the outcome.) Start off with the 200 grit then use the 400 grit.
5. *this step is not mandatory but it make life easier*
use compressed air ever so often while sanding to clear debris (you can see the caliper get shiny)
6. Tape/mask off rubber boots, bleeder valve, and brake line
7. Start paintin (apply 2-3 healthy coats of paint, look on paint can for time intervals)
make sure to stir/mix the paint according to directions!
Halfway through the first coat
Done with the first coat
*this paint takes around 24 hours to fully dry*
this is what red caliper paint looks like cured on my cobalt
its my first how to ever so i hope it came out alright... ill update pics after the paint dries... all in all from breakin the lug nutz loose to being done with painting took 3 hours MAX and that was with taking cig/beer breaks! so its not too bad of a job! ill answer any questions the best i can.

i need to redo mine. looked great until the winter months and the salt starting eating the paint. you really need to be thorough when cleaning the calipers. i'm considering repainting them after completely cleaning the calipers with soap and water when i need t do my brakes.

but if you havent painted your calipers yet, id recommend taping off the entire brembo area- spray painting the caliper- then go through with a paint brush or somethin and detail AROUND the brembo

I have used the duplicolor and even after all the same prep the crap peeled and chiped off. I went back to the G2 caliper paint and couldnt be happier no peeling or chipping even in Wisconsin winter weather. Plus it comes out really shiney. Yes its costs a bit more but on the three vehicles I put it on no problems with coming off even after 3 years.
