Hi everyone. I just got a chance to catch up and noticed that someone was having the troubles with theirs being metric. I just went out to my car and checked out mine. Mine was defaulted being english when I installed it. So to check to see if changing the DIC to metric would change the display to metric also and it did. I only checked the outside air temps and the air inlet temps but they did change to Celcius. When I changed it back to english it set the RPD back to fahrenheit.

Not sure on why yours is staying on just metric.

Do you have a 2009? The other guy had a 2008 and we're thinking maybe it's one of the differences between the different years.

Yes. Mine is an 09. The part numbers that I used when installing the RPD to mine ( the ones I put in the how-to) was from an 09 also.

Oh, it works. It's already been done on an '08. They ran into a problem getting the RPD to switch measurement units though. That may have been one of the differences we're now uncovering between the '08 and '09. The '09 may send out a signal when you change measurement units displayed and the '08 may not.

Fixes for this would be to have somebody (like Vince) add that programming in so it will change or maybe hook it up to somebody with an '09 (RPD or not) and have them change it and then plug the RPD back into your car.

I was also wondering if it could be done at the dealer with the scan tool.

I wonder if its the BCM or ECM that needs to be flashed to enable units change on an '08. IF there was an 08 owner around me i'd let them test with my stuff, especially since my car is apart right now.

Right now I am waiting for the Stage Kit tune to be released. When I take it in for the reprogramming/updating of the software I am going to see if that will fix it or if there is another way thru the scan tool to do it.

Update: When I had my stage kit installed I had the dealer try and get the RPD to read English, no luck. They said they called and talked to an engineer and there is no way to get the '08 BCM to send the required signal to the RPD for the switch. Bummer. So it is up for sale, RPD, the connector and install instructions. It has been proven to work on the '09s that did not come with the option since they have a different BCM.

so to recap;
this will work in a sedan, you just need to modify the pillar to have it sit properly (to read it)

The RPD comes with the pillar since it is integrated into it. I don't think modifiying a gauge pillar would work. I currently have mine removed. I can snap some picks of it from the back so you can see how it mounts into the pillar.

i wonder if you were to take it to a car with us units, plug it in and update, then install in yours if it would keep???? maybe this is the solution for 08s unless you need to switch back and forth...

I thought of that but to find an '09 - '10 with the RPD option in my area is going to be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Not to mention them letting me take their pillar off and hook it up.

If I do this myself, will it void my factory warranty? If yes, I wonder if the dealership would be able to do it...I'd still like to keep my warranty
