very easy to do..
buy some spray on engine clean 1 can only needed for most bays.[Gunk],
[do it when the engine is relatively cool. & cover the coils with a plastic bag & ]
spray it on,
let it soak for a few minutes,
rinse it off quickly w/water [do not spray directly on valve cover/coils, not too much water.dont drown the engine] ,
dry off excess water with a towel,
start the car let it idle & actually drive it to help speed the drying process.
Done..

I usually clean my engine bay every other car wash. I pop the hood, lightly spray the entire engine bay with the water hose. Scrub the entire engine bay with a wash mitt and soap, just like you would scrub your car's exterior. Then rinse it off and towel dry it. It looks great. Just be careful not to get your coil packs or fusebox too wet.
