Trunk open message

Hey guys have a 2008 Cobalt Sport and im getting a trunk is open message even though it isn't. Any ideas?

Unplug your battery for a few minutes, then reinstall everything and see if that clears it.

I have unhooked the battery and it still appears.

Find the switch that reads if it's open or closed I've had this problem when there is ice in doors and the trunk. Just opening it and closing it a few times has fixed it.
