Clutch install! Help?

Would anyone be interested in helping? I can provide money and beer (I'll make it worth your time)! I just am not comfortable with a shop working on my car. It will be the GMPP clutch brand new, new clutch pipe, new LNF TOB, new flywheel bolts, and a new LSJ flywheel.

It won't be for another month before I purchase it, but I would like to see if I can find anyone before hand.

I would prefer someone who has done it before, or a few times, and has all of the tools. My tool selection is extremely limited, I only have tools for basic maintenance. I am also willing to travel.

Thanks!

I looked for someone for the same thing a while back to no avail. I'm actually driving up to ZZP on 8/1 to have them do it for me (amongst other things). They are installing the clutch, flywheel, TOB, and trans mounts for $450. I'm having them do it because i figure they probably have worked on more LNF/LSJ's than any other place within driving distance and because they sell the parts as well.

Yeah I've been up there for other things and they said they wouldn't do the GMPP clutch. I have no clue why.

Trans mounts are hella easy dude just do em yourself.

Weird...any reason you're going with the gmpp and not a different/aftermarket brand? Your set up is pretty similar to mine and I know its recommended to go w/ stage 2+ (depending on the manufacturer).

GMPP clutch is more than enough for 95% of the LSJ owners, even the higher power guys could probably get away with it.

Besides the fact that it's dirt cheap, and easier to drive than stock... No one knows the car better than the GM engineers, so why not go with something designed by them?

Quoted again. This is very true. GMPP clutch has held up very well with a TVS/2.7"/E85 setup. Most LSJ guys will probably never even see this power level.

I had no idea that the TVS was THAT powerful. The next time I'm bored w/ 2 grand I may look into it.

Not sure if you're being a smartass or not.

Most people with a TVS are afraid to push it.

I have pushed the TVS quite a bit with a ported head, full 3" exh, forged pistons and E85 on a 2.7 pulley and full cooling. The GMPP has help up quite well.

If I am not mistaken it's the same (or similar) clutch as on the SS/TC

Hey

Not sure if you're still looking, but some local guys just installed my new clutch today. Located on the north side of Chicago. They used to be active over here, but not anymore.

They know what they are doing, and have all the tools. But are going to want money. No beer, just the money part. Only charge about half of what a dealer will charge.

Let me know if you want their contact info.
