Whos up for one?

It kind of just struck me here looking at the Missouri meet. But I think it would be a great Idea. Get to know all the Illinois Cobalts. And work on that statewide club me and a few of us have been pushing for.

 

I want to meet at least more time this summer too. I've had to miss the last two due to work and I was really bummed about it. One more chance...

 

hey guys, there is a thread out there for a sept 8th meet at 8:30 in the NW burbs (I just noticed HALF has seen it).... thats a friday night. not much response.... some want to have it in the afternoon on a weekend so we can see the cars better than at night.
I wish we could somehow come up w/ a date and time that works for all.
HALF... I know you have the master Chicago list. If you can help coordinate that would be great. I am new to the forum thing and am just learning how to navigate the forum.
ChiTownSS was originally trying to get this together. Let me know how I can help. It would be cool to do a cruise as well.... what about crashing one of the muscle car meets?

 

We should take it out of the suburbs though, somewhere a little less Chicago like. But thats just my opinion. And yea a weekend with an afternoon date would be best...

 

I am interested. I agree with you rally, something a little further south would be nice, what about Joliet round abouts?

 

I can do Joilet.... I have no problems within a 50 mile radius

 

Joliet would be perfect. It allows us central guys to take a bit shorter drive and not get lost in all that chicago crap.


So the question is WHEN. (lets try a weekend where its nice)

Unfortunatly the end of september does not work for me, 23,24th i'll be in central iowa and 25,26 i'll be in Bowling Green, Ky a the corvette plant with school

 

I plan on going to Joliet on Tues. the 26th for the last night of test and tune.

 

That would work for me as well perfer saturdays after 3pm or on sundays.....

 

I forgot to add, that was Sept. 26th, I am getting my car tuned on the 23rd!

 

lol so the meets have been friday and sunday....ugh...no go...i can really only do sat. meets...bummer

 

Ironically sundays are really my only days that I can go.

I'll be happy to attend any meeting you can make. I can't be of too much help in setting it up right now however. What I can do is send a PM to all of the members on the Chicagoland list advertising your post and asking them to attend. Get your place and date firm and I'll do that for you.

 

i can do tuesday, and should be able to do saturday and sunday evenings, fridays are a definite NO for me

yea it seems like whenever a meet is getting organized it turns into 3+ threads... im confused!

 

come down to the quad cities its about 3 hours from chicago and i would like to go to a meet we have so many cobalts around here but no one wants to join a club or nothing alot of people wont even join up on here

 

Yeah, my brother lives in Davenport, he has a black SS/SC, he has absolutely no interest in anything car related, it is a shame.

 

I also vote for sunday.....That is the only day that I dont have either work or school...Although dont plan to much around me because my car right now is just a stock 2.2...Nothing much to look at...

 

For everyone getting confused.

The Sep. 8th meet is cancelled since no one could do a Friday meet.

The one titled "since everyone wanted it on sunday" is for Sep 10th, location still being debated.

This meet is for end of Sep?

Sep 10th and this meet are not the same meet, so looks like we'll have 2 meets in September.

 

I'm up for a meet. Somewhere close to Chicago, maybe an hour to hour and a half away will be good for me.

 

OH OH OH! I was reminded of this today.
IT might be a bit of a drive for some of us but its worth it...

Its in bloomington illinois, september 9th. Its called Twin City Cruisers and it happens every second saturday. So for the cobalt crowd has been so small that I park out.

Now before you say "pshhhh to this" hear it out. The show is from 5:30 till 9, but theres also the entire day to meet. Even get great parking spots for the show. PLUS ITS A SATURDAY!

Its literally an hour and a half from chicago. People do it all the time. Not to be bitchy but it seems like all the chicago people are up for a meet like this as long as they dont have to drive.
