Ideas for Va Beach and Tidewater region Cobalts
Good grief people! man what is going on? do all of you remember why we started this club in the 1st place? granted, this forum isnt really the best place to get feelings and concerns about whats going on with each other and the club! to many things being taking WAY out of context if you ask me. the resolution? a sit down meet and put everything on the table and get it out and get it done.
i dont know, but during any DD meets, was there any goals set? was there talks about what everyone wanted out of the club?

i hate to say it he has a point and i think that im gonna go a head and leave this thing as well being that you belive someone elles then going to the source of it and frist off this dude with the turbo cavy races he has video and the whole nine how do i know because when we were talking at the gas station he showed me the video so hope you guys have a great time with the club and lots of luck later
You guys are all just listening and seeing what you want to see and completely missing the point. I was using those emails as an example to show you that word gets around fast ...and we dont want to get a bad rep. I didnt say not one time that I was taking sides with anyone. For crying out loud I was trying to defend the clubs reputation, thats all I was doing. I havent listened to anything that the other club has told me really....I have just been listening to what our members have been saying....and what they have been telling me about them racing and reading what is posted on this forum. I restated what we all agreed upon in the rules...and now everyone is bucking about it??? I dont get it. Not one bit. We all made those rules together and for a reason...and now they mean nothing???? Thats cool...and no one was booted out of the club...two people decided to leave....thats their decision.
Man, I love a soapbox
Take a look at his post. I even boldfaced it for you.
And Red's post....
People, try and get the facts straight before you go jumping to conclusions. Red was simply trying to prevent a bad situation before it started then she gets jumped. Regardless of what all the Billy Bad Asses think, if you have that sticker on your car you WILL bring negative attention to the club if your busted doing something stupid. And yes, driving like an ass is stupid. I understand that we buy fast cars for that very reason, they're fast. But there's a time and place to prove it and public roads are niether of the two. There are entirely too many venues for you to prove yourself legally(trackdays, autocross, rally, car shows) for you to have to be out there endangering the public. You want to show me real nuts? Back down from a race. Smile and wave. Sooner or later you'll see that ******* down the road pulled over, wrapped around a tree, or worse, they've killed someone else in the process. You're not proving anything on the streets. You think you got what it takes? Go legal, win some races, get sponsors, make some money. Do all that with a DD sticker on your car and bring a positive light on the club so it can do some real good like raising money for charities/less fortunates. That sounds a whole lot better to me than the endless list of negative alternatives.

My point is that no one on here is looking for races. Everyone on here has done something like this before. I still say worry about it when you have proof. If someone gets popped, vote them out. This should have never been brought up on this forum in the first damn place. I am sick and tired of people using this site as a way to act out their power trips. People get on here and just start saying whatever pops up in their heads. DD does not have a bad reputation, and the guys that are all leaving are the ones that get out and rep us the most. This happened because people had to start running their mouths on the net. If this had been done at a meet I know the outcome would have been completely different.
Oh, and the people that we are talking about are the sameones who have gone to the shows and done the food drives, so in my eyes they are doing their part!

X 20!
I love you!
Actually, just yesterday I walked into advanced off of Princess Anne by the Catholic High School and the guy behind the counter recognized me and the car and was showing our group respect. I'd have to say, for those that want to talk about having a bad rep, then maybe you should get out and come to some of the meets and races (langley speedway, autocross, the drift event that just happened, which was F**KING AWESOME!) and rep the club, show them we're better than the rumors. Obviously, if you're military or your job takes you places, you can't be there, but don't start talking about bad rep until you join us out there. No one messes with us because they like the cobalts. Hell, the DSM's nicknamed us the killer skittles
, in a nice way (they're cool guys and like us). Im not trying to fight or start something, but if someone has an issue they should mention it at a meet, and if it involves what someone does with their car, then confront the person yourself through pm or w/e, but don't start telling people how to live when we're outside the circle. I agree though, the DD logo should not be on the car because of the guilty by association factor. Granted, if a cobalt gets pulled, the cop thinks there's bound to be more, but that association factor is multiplied when we all have the same logo. End of my 2 cents. Let the flaming begin

look while i am not condoing street racing. you get an urge when u street race that u wont get at the track what make it fun casue it illgeal and u get a rush of adreline.
Rules of Domestic Disturbance:
1. Members must attend at least one meet a month.
2. Military on deployment are exempt from the one month rule as long as they keep some sort of contact.
3. If there is a tie during voting, the president (if she is not present, the vice will take her place) will make a decision considering the facts and best interest of DD as a whole. Decisions will be NON-BIASED.
4. Once subjects are voted on and a decision is made, it will only be reversed if there is a good enough reason.
5. Avoid involving the club name with illegal activities.
6. Members will pay a $40 yearly fee (around $3.33 a month, one lump sum).
7. All delta bodies (cobalts, pursuits, redlines) are unconditionally accepted into DD.
8. Other GM vehicles (cavaliers, sunfires, hhrs, etc...) will be voted in on a case by case basis.
9. Guests of all makes and models are allowed to attend meetings as long as they do not interfere or say they are part of DD. (Ideas and suggestions are welcome)
(I added this one, if no one likes it, then we'll exclude it)
10. Even if you own a cobalt, if you are an ass you can and/or will be voted out of DD. You will not be asked to return to meetings or join in club activities. We all have our bad days, but if it gets out of hand for too long, contact the president to begin a watch on the singled out member. That goes for guests who decide to attend as well.

the end.

but in your own rules it says as long as we don't involve the club name in illegeal activites and I do not have a stickers on my car then i didn't break any rules. possibly number 10 but most of us have been gulity of that lately
i agree with u Will.. but i am not supporting it either.. U haven't been to this track so u wouldnt know... trust me i have done a lot of both its better just to do it at the track, safe, legal, and u get alot of attention. I aint trying to get n all this drama cuz i dont have a problem with ne one, I think we should just drop everything and move on amicably
