I don't have a problem with doing it but I have class this weekend and next.
I don't know when I'll get out is the problem. We wouldn't get started on the car until after I get out of class in the afternoon. You know things never go as planned. My concern is that we'll get knee deep in the car and end up not being able to finish it.
I don't think you want your car sitting in my garage until I have time again for visitors considering it's your daily driver.
If everybody is willing to make this a marathon until it's done then we might have a chance. Maybe Saturday afternoon into the night?
We have to make sure we have a tune ready and a way to get it into the car also(somebody with HPT).
I think we should make a video documentary of it too.

well guys, turns out the tapping that i thought was the rocker arms was not.

When i left my car with my bosses brother to keep an eye on it while i was on deployment trashed my engine. Because it was a freashly built motor the oil was suppose to be changed every 1,000 miles for the first 6,000 miles of the engine life. Well i changed the oil as i was supose to before i went on deployment.

I asked his brother to watch the car and drive it around the block. Well he drove it all right, he put 8,000 miles on the car and didnt change the oil once. Turns out that since he didnt change the oil as he was supose to the rod bearings went bad and on my trip back to michigan... crusing at 55mph i hear some tapping/knocking and it was getting worse as i drove further and further. I got to bedford PA and POWWWWWW hear a loud snap and the engine dies. I have a rod sticking out of the front of my block. We dropped the oil pan and the rod cap had snapped off. I called millenium and asked them about it and they said what happened was that since he didnt change the oil like it was suppose to be changed the rod bearing burnt up/ wore out and produced play for the crank and rod. the crank was pretty much beating up the rod and the ignitions was beating it back down and eventually the crank snapped the rod cap bolts sending the rod where ever.

So now in going to be with out a car till october. The car is being towed to michigan and i will be flying back to norfolk when my leave is over.

I sooo want to strangle my bosses brother for ******* me over like this. I knew i should have taken the car back to michigan before i went on deployment. GRRRRRRRRRRRR

I'm pretty sure i posted to you guys before in here about him driving the car so far, and i believe cesar said next time i could park the car at his place... well from now on it goes back to my parents house no matter what

yeah i know about that kinda stuff, i changed the oil 2 days ago. the problem is that my bosses brother NEVER changed the oil in the 8,000 miles he drove it. on a newly built motor it needed to be changed every 1,000 for the first 6,000 miles.

so now the car is going to sit in michigan till probably october when i get my next installment of my bonus and getting a new motor. unless i manage to save enough money up to get it done before then but i doubt it.

they are also using the apexi fuel ignition controller and were asking me for help on how i got my AEM f/ic wired up. they were trying to use the 2.2l wiring schems for the 2.0 lol. i corrected them and set them in the right direction.

It's looking like MRD is going to be building the motor again. I dont know any other shop that can do the work. I dont want to give DTP the car because of all the custom fab that had to be done for the STS, i dont want this to be another head ake for them to have on their busy schedule.

I'm so bummed out about my situation. MRD did say they would work with me on it and cut me a deal. While im in michigan im going to pull the current motor and pull off all the salvageable stuff, like 3 of the 4 rods and pistons, the cams, and the springs, im pretty sure the valves are going to be shot.

My brother is looking into getting a motor for me. I hope he can come through for me. Would be nice to get a new motor for 3k vice 4.8k through the GM dealer

Well as soon as we(everybody) figure something out and a date, let me know. I might manage to bring the cobalt(I can drive it comfortably now) and the baby of course. I know everyone is just missing the orange balt, not...lol.
