I leave tomorrow night to head up to Rhode Island to pick up my wife from Navy ODS. I'll be back this weekend. Hit me up at the number I'm PMing to you. Btw, if you do the clutch you might as well upgrade the flywheel. From what my car is telling me, it's def a great mod.
I should be picking up the clutch as soon as i get my Income tax money back, what else do I need I see that you say a flywheel is a good idea. My thoughts on the new clutch is that i might just go with a stage one, since my car is very lightly modded, and I think stage two might just be over doing. On that note if I do just go with a stage 1 would it really help that much to get a performance flywheel? Also what all do I need and are the spec clutchs a kit, as in clutch disc, pressure plate, thowout bearing, and alighnment tool?

Also thanks for the offer on the help I might need it... so for I have one other person that will help me out, but neither of us have ever changed a clutch.

Well when I do order the clutch, I have my buddy shannon with the MS3 and I guess domin8_gt is down to help out possibly, but the more the marrier I suppose, and if i'm not mistaken haven't changed the clutch in your car... I could use some experienced help. Anyway I still need to wait for my tax return, so I can get everything I need.

That crowd is definitely not worth sticking with. I plan on just driving between the cities for fun once it gets warmer or when I start going out to the meets for the hell of it with the cars. I usually take back roads too since most of the meets aren't worth staying at for long. The fun is in driving your car, not looking at it.

They run like idiots on the streets around here and on the highways in populated areas. Then they wonder why they have 45 points racked up on their licenses...

Clutch kits normally come with the clutch, pressure plate, and alignment tool. I'm not sure about the throwout bearing on the F23 trans, but on the F35 it is attached to the slave dylinder and is over $100 for the part. The slave cylinder is hydraulic, and many people recommend not messing with it. GM even states in their buildbook that it is durable and shouldn't need replacing. The only thing I did was regrease the bearing with white lithium grease. Since GM loves hydraulic clutches, I would not be surprised if the F23 is similar. Oh, one last thing, I don't have a bleeder kit. You need it for the clutch and brakes once you get the tranny bolted back up. SHould take care of that before putting everything back together.

Why decide? Do both. Do the stripes right and you could have a Monte Carlo thing going on. But, if you had to decide between the 2, I'd go with the stripes.

Cool A Strike from the Shadows

A little something for some of you:

Danew: Don't you dare let anyone weld a bolt-on vertical door kit. You don't have to weld to get proper alignment and it'll only **** up your car.

Steve: I know I remember you saying you wouldn't have any need to modify your super turbo cobalt and now all I see in your posts is how you're going to. If you're going to run autocross you're going to be outclassed because of your mods and quickly get discouraged. Why are you worried about meeting with SRT's and them talking **** about your car? Everybody already does anyway.

Rob: You don't want to get caught up in Steve's infinite downward spiral of always wanting something else. If I understand correctly, you needed driving advise, from Steve, and now you want 300+hp? I think Charlie Brown is best quoted here, "Good grief"

ah ernie.... hows hawaii? did they "lay" you when you landed i didnt have any Need to mod the car... but i had a huge want to soooo i went with that... group buy prices took alot of price off those parts. as for the SRTs i just have a low tolerance for ignorance...... lol why do you worry bout what i do with it anyways? yer car is infinitely faster anyways isnt it???? parts werent available so there was no need or intention to mod. now there on sale and with income tax this was a now or never thing so i said mmmm now. im happy with the desicion and thats all that matters to me. im over people bashing my impulses. not like it effects there life so im done worrying what others think about it...

in the words of forrest gump

"And thats all i have tuh say.... about thaat"

Ernie, I'm not going to weld them in the car. Kind of defeats the purpose of having "bolt-on" hinges.

And to Steve..., you ever hear the phrase, "elephants never forget"? Ernie is just recalling something that I remember you saying as well. He doesn't care that you bought parts, just reminding you of what you said some time ago. Regardless of what you said, all of us knew you were going to mod your car as soon as the opportunity was right. And stop being so defensive. You didn't have to take it as him calling you out, but you did. We all take shots at each other, but only in good fun. (At least most of the time). Get the work done that you want and you be the deciding factor in whether it looks good to you or not; whether it's fast enough or not. It's a daily driver that you are making payments on and you have to deal with everyday.

Enjoy it.

Glad to see that you have calmed down. Speaking of parts, I bought my exhaust, and the dp, balance shafts, and timing gears are soon to come.

I really whish i didn't need a new clutch. If I didn't have to get a clutch I would have been half way to a turbo kit.... but now I have maybe just enough for the clutch flywheel, and a body kit...

is that $300 for the strips and the installation? i would love to get strips on my car. just make sure you have the strips come all the way down to the bumpers. i think it looks better that way then stopping on the hood or at the top of the bumper.
