2009 SSTC in Colorado Springs

Hi all,

Proud new papa of an '09 SSTC here. Had her about a month, she was already tuned and modded, and used sparingly for SCCA Solocross. Less than 60k on her, and clean.

Everyday driving:

GM Stage 1 Tuning (24lbs)
Hahn Racecraft Intake
Custom 3 inch straight pipe exhaust
Autopower Race Roll Bar
13" Brembo Front Brakes
Powell XXX Rear Anti Sway Bar
17 inch Alloy Wheels

Additional Parts (some may be put up for sale once I find my preferred setup)

2 Full Sets of Koni Gas Adjustables
4 set of Eibach Springs, various heights and stiffness
Camber Adjusters
Recaro Race Seat
5 Point Harness, mounts to roll bar
18 inch Racing Rims

This is a fun car, and most people only want to test theirs against it once. Looking forward into getting deeper into my first turbo, and seeing what this little beast can really do. Also looking for other heads in the Colorado Springs area to roll around with, shoot the breeze and tinker on our rides.

Yeah buddy, I'm already following the 5280 FB page and registered on your site. Waiting to hear about the next event and meet some like minded heads in the area.

Gonna give this a little bump, and since I am still pretty new around here, ask some advice. Wondering what the next logical steps to my car build should be? Additional sensors (I only have the boost gauge)? Charge pipes? Intercooler? Downpipe? Or what I might be missing so far? This is my first turbo vehicle, and a beast. I'm in love with her, and want to do her right.

You can see in my sig the gist of the build, but I will expand a bit more below. I bought this car already built to be an SCCA race car, from a former member here, ScottHerbert. I have been taking some time learning about the car and becoming one with her. Changed the setup a bit from when I got her, really just springs and koni's in the rear. I have coilovers to play with, but with the rough roads around my town, I'd rather save my back, and winter is right around the corner.

The former owner, who is also my stepfather and I trust immensely, has been a gearhead his whole life, and swears the tune on it is GMS1, though it pushes 24psi, and it's my understanding GMS1 tune doesn't push that much. I've been told that's due to the build, with the Hahn intake and the custom exhaust. Stock downpipe and cat to a custom 3 inch pipe with a glasspack. Glasspack has been turned backwards, so it'll pass visual state or cop inspection, but the baffles don't catch any air, acts as a straight pipe, and has a great loud tone. The car is about as stiff and as safe as it can be, so it's time to continue the performance factor of the build.

I'm not tying to push a lot more horsepower, the car is still under warranty, so no turbo swaps or alternate tuning as of yet, but I know I can push more here, or make additional setup tweaks, while still playing under the warranty. Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.

Car Details:

G85 Perfomance Package with LSD & Brembo's
GMS1
24psi Tune
Hahn Racecraft Intake
Custom 3 inch Straight Pipe with Inverted Glasspack
Eibach Pro-Kit Springs on FE5 Fronts and Koni Adjustable Rears (about a half turn from full soft)
Autopower Race Roll Bar with Options
Powell XXX Bar
Front Twin Subframe Brace
Powell CABS

I think it has the Powell Rails also, but I am am waiting for confirmation on that.
