Engine swap help

I’m in the process of swapping a 2009 cobalt vvt 2.2 into a 2008 cobalt and I’m looking for some wiring advice. Do I just need the vvt engine wiring harness and ecm? Or will I have to swap out the bcu, fuse box, and everything in between? I’ve tried searching for the answer with very little luck so any help is appreciated. Thanks

There is a thread around here where someone swapped in an LE5 2.4 VVT in to a 2.2 non vvt. I'll see if I can find a link to the thread.

Lots of info in this google search. The first 2 results are 2.4 VVT engine swaps into non-VVT. I have heard this swap would be much easier into 09 that had the LAP.

from what I have read, it looks like the 2.2 engine harness can be modified to work. You will for sure need to do some wiring. I also don't know about the ECU situation and tuning.
