Sorry i dont have me a ss cobalt (not yet any way) I just purchased a 2007 colbalt engine and transmisson and dont know jack sh*t about it (not yet anyways) I'm going to put it in a 2001 pontiac sunfire and needing some help from some of you guys so i dont end up buying the wrong parts.
My new engine hopefulley will be an easy install my problem is i dont know whats needed to be smog compliant. hear's what I want to end up with.... a little sunfire with about 500 hp. blown and be able have me a sleeper that will spank our foreign cars. then again if its too much of a pain I'll turn it sideways and put it in a trac t with two delorto"s on one side and a bad ass headder on the other.
ok back to the sunfire, whats needed for a computer to make a newer eng in an older car?

 

well, first off what engine is it? 2.2? 2.4? 2.0 supercharged?

to get 500 hp is realistically only possible on the 2.0 supercharged engine, provided you turbo swap it and pretty much build it.

 

Not necessarily, if youre gonna take it that high, and you have to build it anyway, more displacement is better.
