Canada engine trouble

i dont have a Cobalt at the moment but i am thinking bout buying one, its a 2005 and it has engine trouble, i was speaking to the people who are working on it they tell me the cylinder head is toast and need to be replaced, so i ask why do it need to be replaced can i replace the valves because they are bent for some reason, they say no you cannot replace the valves because they are made into the cylinder head, can anyone tell me if this is true

what kind of engine does the car have? i own a 2.2 and i just replaced the valves as one was letting the compression out, and it all depends on the state of the head if it need to be replaced or not

Actually I dont even know what size the engine is to be exact, all i know at the moment its a 4 cylinder ecotec, im assumming a 2.2, the reason im asking is because they say the valave cannot be replaced at all, they say the valves are built into the cylinder head and cannot be removed, somehow i dont beleive this, ive never heard of an engine that has the valves built into the cylinder head and cannot be removed
