headers/down pipe for my 2006 cobalt ss s/c?

hey guys. i just got myself a 2006 cobalt ss sc! i love the car! its gm stage 2 with a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust! it sounds great! but i was looking at a set of headers and a downpipe. the ad said it would add 25 hp and i could run a smaller pulley. i was right excited to order it but then a friend of mine told me he did that and it made his car sound like ****? he said it was soo loud that you couldent even hear the supercharged so he put the stock downpipe back on. so im not really sure what to do. i want the hp gain. but i dont want my car to sound bad.. has anyone here done this before? does it really sound bad? and is it worth it?

From what I read, if you go catless its like your friend described, loud as hell, annoying

Stay catted and it should be fine, although I dunno about +25hp w/o a dyno tune

it comes with a highflow cat. but he told me even without the headers and just the down pipe with a high flow car, it would still be loud as hell. he said id be better off with just the stock. he said it has good enough air flow and headers and a downpipe are not needed. but idk.

You want the gains but not the noise??? Hmmm. Only thing you could do to get best if both worlds would be to change your muffler as well

Vibrant header/dowpipe kit is VERY popular.
