Introducing the new OnStar Social Media Representative

We would like to take a moment and introduce Sara as our newest OnStar Customer Assistance Representative from the OnStar Social Media group. The OnStar Social Media group is responsible for scanning over forums, including this one, in order to provide customer service to those who utilize them. We are looking forward to assisting those with concerns on the site. This would include interacting with the customer in hopes that we can reach some kind of resolution together. We are excited to be a part of this online community and hope that we are able to provide assistance here.

Jessica and Sara, OnStar Social Media Team

I purposely made sure my car didn't have on star, the last thing I need is someone I don't know to have the ability to track and start/shut off my car

Good morning, everyone!

No, I'm not the same Sarah that was here before - though I've been with OnStar for two and a half years, I've just moved to the Social Media team. It's quite true that we haven't posted here much - our intentions on forums such as this is not to act as a salesperson, but rather to have a presence in case the forum users have a question or concern we might be able to address directly.

Feel free to message me with any questions you may have about the OnStar system. I'm always happy to help!

Thats still enabled regardless of your subscription. You can call onstar and use the service whenever you like. And have your car tracked if its stolen. AFAIK.

The OnStar system in the vehicle will deactivate within 24 hours of your subscription lapsing. Once it is deactivated, we cannot communicate with it remotely, and you will not be able to receive any of OnStar's services, such as stolen vehicle tracking, automatic crash response, or Turn-by-Turn directions. To reactivate your system, you will have to press the OnStar button inside of the vehicle. It is impossible for us to initiate that connection from our center without your direct participation in the process.
