LE9 SC Build. All parts in hand, Just Need Tuning understanding

New Member, I just recently joined but have been looking into this site for several months. What I have is a bone stock 2010 Pontiac G6 with the LE9 with a auto slap shift 6 speed. I was able to get all SC bolt on's off a 06 to 08 cobalt ss at my local pull a part. M62 SC with the intake, fuel rail with injectors, coil packs and throttle body. I just recently went through and put new VVT solenoids, plugs, cloyes timing chain kit with 3rd gen timing chain tensior. After that I done a compression test and I'm reasonably around 180 plus or minus 3 or 4 Lbs within eachother on cylinders. I've had the car for 4 years and it's been an all around good car. Now that I've got another daily driver I'm able to feel comfortable in beginning to play. I don't have any check engine lights now since I replace timing chain. I think it's strong enough to carry the SC being I really don't spend alot of time flooring it. I really haven't heard or seen any G6's with the LE9 or LE5 that have bolted on the Eaton M62 SC. As far as getting everything bolted on an hooked up mechanically I can do that, but what I do not have any or very little knowledge in it is how to go about getting a tune or somewhere that already has a tune that can be loaded or programmed into my ECM. That is where I am hung up I would like to get the information and understanding of that before pulling the motor apart and starting the build. Anyone that can message me or point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated for I already have the parts and I am going to do it so I am not here to waste anyone's time I'm here together more knowledge and understanding of how it works and I hear this is the place to go thanks in advance
Russell

I don't know much about the G6s but, here is the list of supported vehicles from HPT, https://www.hptuners.com/vehicles/ I'd look at my self but my work computer is having issues right now and won't let see what models are under each make. If yours is supported, its basically just talk to a tuner and get started tuning. there have been plenty of 2.4 SC's that have been tuned, so I'm sure its not much different.

Awesome, I looked it up and it does support my vehicle. I would need to find a garage around here to take it to, to get it tuned right? For some reason this isn't clicking in my head.... I can do all the mechanical work but for some reason I'm having a hard time understanding this Tuning stuff. I wonder if there is somewhere I can take my ECM and they just change what I need changing ? Or do I have to buy hptuner and they already have a file made that I can flash over to my ECM? Thanks for getting back with me.

Not all shops/garages will know how to performance tune. I would also stick with someone that knows how and has been tuning Ecotecs for a while. I know Kendall (Mad Scientist Performance) has tuned at least one higher powered 2.4. I would also recommend Alan McClure form ZZP, and there are a quite a few others I'm sure that more then capable of tackling the task. For tuning you will most likely want to purchase HP tuners for yourself, so you can flash the initial tune and then datalog and have your tuner tweak your tune. Unless you can find someone local to you to do the tuning. All of my tuning was done via email, all I had to was flash mymy ECU, datalog, email it back to the tuner, they would update my file and then repeat until its dialed in. I would try and help find other tuners, but I'm kinda limited right now.
