New Modder

Hey all I am new to the modding scene. I am taking a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and dropping a LSJ into it with an Auto Tranny. I planned on using a megasquirt 3 or Holley into it.

Looking for tips / tricks of the trade.

I am also dropping out the headunit and doing a full digital system upgrading the headunit to a raspberry pi running the entire entertainment and diagnostics system

Here are my top tips for succeeding with non-bolt on car projects in months not years, I'm talking car projects that most people will try to talk you out of because they are ridiculous:
1) Open a line of credit, 3-4x your estimated project cost that you saved up for
2) Buy energy drinks by the case
3) Cancel all activities with family and friends (including girlfriend) until significant major milestones or you're done
4) Use only disposable dishes, cups, utensils (you're not going to have time to do dishes)
5) Purchase lots of underwear and socks and pre-wash them (you're not going to have time for laundry)
6) Accept that you're house is dirty (you're not going to have to clean the house)
7) Do not lose sight of the prize, ignore all failures and barriers and continue the pressure (see tip #1)
8) No whining allowed (see tip #7)

Why an auto transmission though? Setting it up for drag racing?

I'm quite interested and curious in the Raspberry Pi setup. I've been considering doing something similar in my track car... and then again potentially in the Cobalt.
