I bought a 2006 SS yesterday with 106xxx miles. All has been going well until I went to start it up tonight (unsuccessfully) Finally the car started. The security light is on, "Power Steering" is being displayed on the dash. And while driving the gauges will randomly shut off. I just called the dealer I bought it from, hoping they can help resolve the problem for free since Ive had the car for only 24 hours. If they give me the cold shoulder what should I be looking for?

 

There are a couple of TSBs about the electric power steering. The dealership should have fixed them before they sold the car. Check to see if the work was done at a GM dealership.

 

I remember when that would happen on my basemodel never did figure out what it was tho only came after a few months or more

 

I'm hoping its not something too serious. Having your car not start the day after you buy it is not a good feeling.
