New from the STL Metro area

Hey guys, lurked here forever but recently have begun doing more and more to the car and figured it was time to just register, lol.

I'm from near St Louis, actually on the Illinois side, in a small town named Godfrey.

Before anything else, I just wanted to give a huge thank you to everyone for the wealth of information that can be found here. I know I would have been lost quite a few times without everyone's help, even just lurking.

Here's a little history on my car...

I bought a 2005 Rally Yellow LS used in 2007 with only 5k miles on it. I had originally intended to purchase an SS, but I got such a great deal on the LS I couldn't pass it up. Little did I know the headaches I was in for with an LS and an automatic to boot, lol. Anyways, fast forward to now and it's paid off with only 65k miles on it 7 years later. I've been finding myself doing things lately to make it fun to drive again, and no thanks to the forum here for that, lol. The audio system is my pride and joy, but I'm slowly throwing more money at other things now.

Current mods:

Tsudo catback
ZZP Midlength header & catted DP (Still need installed)
K&N SRI
Tinted tails
Black painted headlights (maybe retros someday )

The stereo:

Clarion CX501 head unit
Arc Audio KS300.4 & KS1000.1 amps
Image Dynamics CTX 6.5 components up front
Alpine Type-R 6x9 rear fill (currently unhooked & liking it better, lol)
2 10" JBL GTO1014D subs (great budget SQ subs btw)
Homemade sub box - ported and tuned to 27hz
Duralast Platinum glass mat battery (Deka Intimidator rebadge)

Plans:

Dash trim painting (have the materials, just no time yet)
Yellow vinyl door inserts (have the materials)
Powell YYZ springs & FE5 shock strut combo (ordering soon)
Konig Daylite (black n yellow) wheels - 17x7 (waiting on springs first)

Anyways, thanks for reading all that crap and look forward to looking stupid in a thread near you

Don't have a lot of photos, lost a bunch in a hard drive failure. But here's a few.

And here's a few of the stereo install. The amp board is now bracketed to the rear deck and will soon be bracketed to a solid base trunk floor. I switched from an Alpine PDX-5 to the Arc amps for more sub stage power. Also a few pics of how I deal with the moisture in the doors. Created little water-hats (lol) for the 6.5's and sealed the adapter plates to the door with silicone to prevent water seeping into the cabin. All the connections are heat shrinked and smeared with dielectric grease to prevent corrosion. The amp board and sub box will be carpeted soon. The amp board is also now drilled through for wiring holes. The hot mess of wires was during testing.

Haha welcome, I've also redone my door speakers and added a single 12 in kicker sub to trunk.

You respond to this but not the people who have actual problems? Shouldn't you be worrying about fixing all of the recalls?
