New yellow ss/sc owner

My buddy bought his cobalt ss brand new and blew it up about 2 years ago. With 50,000 on the clock I couldn't let him part it out so I purchased it yesterday, too nice of a car to let sit anyways. Under the hood the block has had everything removed prettymuch, I can see the crank through the bores, but all the parts are in the trunk, bagged and labeled. The only aftermarket parts I know of are the 2.8 pulley, 60# injectors, some re flash tune I blame for the detonation, injen intake, and full zzp exhaust which he sold right before I bought the car.

Let me add the detonation was also likely from the high comp diamond pistons he installed at around 35k miles, because he burnt a hole in one of his stock pistons. ( not one time did he point a finger at the cylinder head...). Or rebuild it when he dropped the pistons in. When he pulled the #4 piston, the edges of it crumbled lol

Pics finally

Going to bring the car home tomorrow, figured I'd post a few pics I snapped when I went to get the title and keys. Sad place for such a pretty car to be.

Sorry I couldn't get the pics resolution right, I used imageshack but it could be bc I'm using an iPhone not a camera and sd card like I used to.

Thanks for the heads up I had to make sure that thread was dead lol. I'm so glad he didn't part it out, way too nice a car to see the crusher, maybe if it were wrecked or had a salvage title..

You are gonna have A LOT of cleaning up to do. It has potential for sure though.

Tree sap, use diluted methanol on a rag and lightly rub. It will come off. Barely use any pressure.

The interior looks cherry minus the steering wheel, he had it covered and took the cover off a year ago, and the pine tree did what they do. Luckily my house has no trees and I made room in the garage for it to fit next to the ole lady's tsx.

Will this have any detrimental effects to the clearcoat, moldings, glass?
