Noob with an issue.

Just bought this '06 SS, Has a 130,000 on a 2.4 n/a. When I parked it tonight after a 45 mile ride home from work I noticed what seemed to be a little stream of water running out from under it. Worried, I popped the hood to check things. Noticed liquid dripping from a short pipe above the steering rack...it appears clear while puddled atop metal. I wiped the trail of liquid and gave it a sniff, doesn't really have an oder. I had my heat/defrost on but not the ac. Never noticed anything like this before. I need to use my car for work tomorrow and was curious if anyone had advice. Should I be worried about this? Thanks in advance!

Welcome! The defrost mode on the climate control uses the AC to remove humidity from the air, keeping the windshield from fogging. It is most likely water from the AC running and nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I will look at the trail of fluid in the morning, if it's dried up with no residue on the driveway I will assume it was just water. I checked the coolant reservoir and it is low but I would imagine it would be empty with the trail of fluid I'd seen. Whoever had the car before me has green coolant in it....the research I've done all says the Cobalts should have the orange "dex cool" . I have a gallon of 50/50(orange dex) but am cautious to top my reservoir off with it cuz I don't think you can mix the two. It's my daily so it difficult to do time consuming maintenance on it....

DO NOT MIX ORANGE AND GREEN COOLANT.

They tend to not play well together and can end up creating slimes that clog passageways.

Just add distilled water to top off your coolant.
