Hi welcome to the site.

Please take some time and read up on your car. There is lots to learn on here.

As other have said, air box mod, or aftermarket intake.

Plug the silencer holes, at your own discretion

just got a 05 ss/sc and i need to do some engine work so id like to tinker with the sc, will be porting it and would like to know what i should do with the "scliencer holes"
will porting them out have the same effect as plugging them? id love to make the sc louder.
the car came with an ls7 tb and 60lb injectors so ill be doing a stage 2 down the road when ive gone over everything

Porting them will actually make it quieter. Plugging them will make it slightly louder, but it is not worth the chance of the plug falling out and getting sucked into a valve.

Air box mod and pulley down. It will be plenty loud.

ya plugging them was totally out of the question. i saw that now locked thread lol not risking any damage,
an injen intake came with the cobalt but was never installed so ill put that on and look into pulleys. whats safest without cooing mods yet? a 2.9?

I don't know much about the LSJ, but if it was me I'd look into cooling mods first before a smaller pulley. The M62 loves to push hot air when pulleyed down.

I've been in contact with ZZP about pulleys with stock cooling and air box mod and they said they wouldn't go under 3.1 or 3.0 but only on 93+ octane on 3.0.

Yea i would stay around a 3.0 to be safe. You will obviously need to tune for it as well, and be sure your ic pump is working.
