Weird oil leak
Hello all, I’m new to the community here and i have a question. Yesterday I was driving around and thought i smelled oil burning, didn’t really think much of it until the next morning when i saw a huge puddle of oil under my car, turns out one of my VVT solenoids decided to start leaking oil out onto my valve cover and then all down the side of the block. I just did a valve cover gasket about 3 weeks ago and I’m not sure if i put something back on wrong or what, i leaked out about 2 quarts of oil in a day and a half. In the photo below this was after running for maybe a minute at idle after i cleaned up the rest of the oil, yes i know my oil is dirty I’m due for an oil change in about 300 miles.

OP you might need to remove the valve cover and double-check your work, making sure both the valve cover and head are clean at the sealing surface. As well as making sure the VVT solenoid o-ring isn't torn.
A general tip I've followed for valve cover gaskets is putting a pea-size or less dab oil-rated RTV at any quick transition area.
