NOS on the 2.0L S/C
ive used nitrous on a few of my cars, my 95 Z has a 250 2 stage in it, my SS has a Zex 125 dry kit, my laser had a 55 shot wet, my firebird had a 75 shot, and ive hooked up dozens of kits and done the homework... With any forced induction motor, the amount of nitrous you add damn near doubles. the 2.0 in the new cobalt WILL handle a 50 shot, it had low compression and a solid bottom end and to who ever said "you ever seen a car after 4 bottles?" if there was a problem after 4 bottles they had it jetted wayyy lean, if you spray, you have to fo to a step colder plug if not 2, and forget about running a platinum plug, youll burn a hole in your piston. platinum plugs burn longer through the engine cycle and can cause detination. running a fuel pressure safety switch is cheap insurance they cost about 25 bucks out of summit. when hooking up nitrous your "nozzle" should be about 6-8 inches away from your throttle body, and in this case the blower, this gives the nitrous time to atomize. theres alot more techno babble that can be said but ill keep it short, nitrous is safe if installed properly, make sure when you pick your jets you figure in your fuel pressure and bottle pressure into the equation. when i get home from work ill post a nitrous jet calculator.
Does NOS still exist? I know they still make energy drinks but I dont think they have anything out for our cars. I want to see that guys setup. Everyone says there running it but I cannot see! and ****..
I had a NOS kit on my cobalt with a zex purge kit. but wrecked it. so now im selling the kit for whoever is interested. askin 500 for everything. has a 75 shot nozzle on it, remote bottle opener, all lines, rpm box, 2 brand new flip switches and a brand new push switch. also includes the electrical lines for the remote bottle opener!
