unless I'm reading it wrong and thats not supposed to be the ground wire going from the arming switch to #4...but I assumed black = ground so...

i'll try actually grounding the arming switch to something...

The only issue with using a grounding switch is that if a wire frays it might ground, where as if the switch is used to provide the +12 then that can't happen...

yeah so I grounded the switch, LED back on...yay

still no nitrous, BOOOOO! at this point I'm about to head to radio shack and just get a ****** 4 post relay lol because all of the damn documentation points to the 4 post relay and I can't get any help with the one I have. only downside is i'm out $43 but I can't get this thing to work, everything seems to work BUT the ground to activate the nitrous.

so what relay should I look for at radio shack? just any old 4 post, 30 amp relay?

bump, dammit lets talk so we can get this resolved.

Currently this is how I have it wired into the relay:
i've got 30 goin to a 12 volt source, 87 going to the zex nmu power, 86 goin to the yellow wire on the msd, and 85 goin to the zex nmu ground.

Still a no-go, what am I missing here?

yeah well I have the wet kit itself, the MSD window switch, the arming switch, the purge wiring and bottle heater wiring.

But really the only thing that is complicating things is the MSD switch and relay...everything else is good to go. I just wish someone with the same setup I have would take the time to help me out...

It's just him, just plan it out on paper first and you will be fine.

Dont worry hemken, its due to other things too.

1. Stay away from a used kit. Theres so many parts taht can be missing, its not worth it imo.

2. TPS for ions suck on 05+

if this is just me then seriously it'd be nice for someone with a Zex kit, hell I'll take any kit at this point to give me a worthwhile response.

there are only so many ways you can hook up a 4 post relay and I've went through just about every configuration that I possibly can...but without solid information on how it should be I have no way to confirm whether its the actual wiring or another problem in the system.

and I wouldn't say I've had problemS with the system, the missing pieces part was worked around and I got through that. my only problem is the wiring regarding the msd switch and relay...everything else in my setup is installed properly and working without issue.

my suggestion to you hemken, is knock the wiring out first...if u can get that out of the way with no issues you are pretty much home free. and also, I would suggest going with a more standardized kit, its hard to find info on the Zex kit wiring wise as all documentation points to a standard setup like NX or NOS.

i've been posting on the msd forums for tech support and each time i post a configuration and fix it per their request, I still get nothing. but without anyway to confirm whether i have the right setup with someone with a working configuration I can't do much else. at this point I'm probably going to buy a test light and verify that the msd switch is actually functional.

Jer I posted on sphere something. maybe you should look up the relay explanation that one of the Silva's put up in the tech articles section too? I'm still not sure why you're running into so many issues here.
