Yup, clutch is in, but i'm having the same trouble you did..brand new clutch actuator took a ****, so i ordered a LNF one. I have been driving the car, just like last year, clutch pedal sucks.

Jeff, no press at home, but I have lots of friends at shops that i can get a good deal on.. I got a ball joint press (which is a really really really big c-clamp) that may work. LMK

Another thing. I'm gonna have a few things for sale here shortly..I'll get pictures up today hopefully

LSJ head COMPLETE
17x7 redline wheels with 225-45-17 Kumho V710 DOT approved slicks (almost new ~45 mins of run time)

so i posted this in the wrong thread apparently so... i'm throwing in the towel

everything is coming off this weekend. i'm finding out that i have 1/2 the know-how and barely any of the resources to stumble through the troubleshooting that i have gotten into. the way the troubleshooting is going right now, there's a good chance that the car will not be running by CED (and damnit, i'm not missing anothe year!)

on top of that, maia's car also took a ****, there's a possibility that we'll have to get another one for her. so, we are down to one vehicle between 3 drivers at the moment.

hopefully the car will be running again normally after this weekend.

kyle, see pm box

ryan, good to know you're still alive and kickin!!!

Are the control arms out of the car? I have a few places that I know of that will do them, just don't know exactly how much it'll cost

hoffa what problems are you having??

besides needing a car by monday at the latest now... hrmph.

can't go over 40mph... car cuts fuel and goes into a "limp mode"

upon startup... i throw 5 codes;
P0101 MAF SENSOR PERFORMANCE
P0575 CRUISE CONTROL RELATED MALFUNCTION
P0833 CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCHH B CIRCUIT
P1682 DRIVER 5 LINE 2 SES
P1682 DRIVER 5 LINE 2

couple of other things but that's the main stuff.

i now don't have the time nor the resources to figure this out... sucks

That's more than likely your source of problems... I wish you were closer, I'm currently between jobs so have a lot of time, but it would be fun to get this going for you.
do you have HPT, how/who is tuning for you? which maf sensor are you using?
Since you have traveled up here more than me down there.. how far away is it?

the p0833 and po575 are related also.. are you using an LSJ throttle body? or stock with an adapter?

The arms are on the car...doesn't take that long to pull em off but I then need another vehicle to drive around Jeff the Alignment guy told me he'd press them in pretty cheap...it'll only take a few min to press both. I just need to find a time that works for him and I...thats the hard part.

Call RP Auto Service. Owner's name is Bob. My friend Kyle works there and he said he will do it for you, if you pull the arms out. They are out in blaine, right behind dodge of blaine
Call Bob, and ask how much.

no one is really doing "tuning" per say... i have beck's tune that he used for this setup (since i bought the parts from him almost 2 years ago). i'm just trying to get this up and running so i can visit bryan and get him to smooth things out. the tune is actually pretty good. no knock, fuel trims are slightly off, but not horrendous.

btw, i think i have 2 problems that's throwin my maf performance code... one being this --> https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lnf-performance-tech-153/p0101-codes-129168/. never knew the metal covering of the sensor is tied into the output pins. "If the cover finds a ground path through the tube it creates whats called a ground loop which can skew the resistive and frequency values of the sensor. If the frequency gets skewed enough the Long Term fuel trim can travel to an extreme limit and the vehicle sets a P0101 which causes turbo and supercharged vehicles to go into speed density backup or what you know as Limp mode. "

so i'm doing more digging... i'll give this a couple more weeks. i think figuring a way to cover part of the metal maf covering (electrical tape) and clean it should fix that problem.

i think i found the problem to the clutch switch code... my wires for the boost gauge looked like they were getting in the way of the clutch pushing the switch under the dash (i have them running underneath and then back up).

i've done research on the 1682 code. a few things could cause this... ic pump failure, ecu problems and ignition switch problem (these i found most relevant). i do have a ic pump problem... it runs but there's no coolant flow (i think i have the input/output lines on wrong on the h/e and that's causing poor performance, i could have a kinked line too). pump power is tied into my ignition fuse. if the pump is having a problem and may be drawing out more power (or less/whatever) could that fool my computer into thinking that there's an ignition switch problem because the pump power is tied directly into my ignition fuse? (i am throwing two 1682 codes). on top of all that, my ecu was rubbing on the metal part of the intake. wonder if that could be causing problems...

few things to try out. ryan, if you are between jobs and have nothing to do really... i'll give ya money for gas if you want to make a trip down here (unfortunately, at the moment that's all i can do). we would have to get kyle up here w/ his hptuners though since i can't afford to buy another set of credits for someone else laptop.

thoughts on problems?

having two 1682 codes probably means one is just pending. Are you using a hand held scanner? or HPT to check codes.. without the job right now, i don't have access to factory service definitions.

I had a random po101 code on my car throwing it into limp mode last year. basically the ECM checks the MAF performance based on IIRC 4 models, using the TMAP, BARO sensor, and a few other things. My problem was solved by tuning VE (most people say its worthless on the LSJ cars)

IIRC the 2.4s use the same ECM as the LSJ correct?

Give me a time when you are available, and we can look at it and I will see if I am available.
